Planning a trip to Maine in july with the family and would appreciate input. Will be two adults and two kids ages 12&15. like to hike, hit the beach, cool restaurants and hopefully get on the water at least one day. 10-12 days for the trip. initial thought is to fly into Boston and see a sox game and then drive up through maine and end up at Acadia Natl Park. which town ls to stay in? how long to stay in each area? thank you!

Did this a few years ago. We stayed in an AirBNB near Camden. We stayed for a week total and really enjoyed it. So nice to get away from the Louisiana heat.

If you end up in Kennebunkport, check out the Nonantum Resort. We stayed with kids a few years back and loved it! Real family feel with incredible breakfast each morning.

I recommend you might visit Portland, Boothbay Harbor and East Boothbay.
There is a great lobster pound named Young's in Belfast.

Nonantum has lobster boat tours, sailing trips and fishing charter right from dock

The breakfast is buffet style and is included in cost of staying

Whitewater rafting on the Kennebec is a good family activity. There are some pretty cool lodges with lots of amenities over there.

We did a quick getaway to the Lobster Festival in Rockland last summer and had a blast. One day we headed over to Boothbay Harbor for the Cabbage Island clambake, which I highly recommend. Hope y'all have an amazing time!

Second the Cabbage Island Clambake. Worth the time and money. Make your reservation as far in advance as possible.
