Received notice today by mail, that Shell Credit Card is transferring from Citibank, N.A. to Imprint Payments, Inc and a new Shell Mastercard will be issued by First Bank and Trust.
Knowing nothing about Imprint Payments, a quick Google search and the reviews are largely negative.
Has anyone had any dealings with Imprint Payments, Inc that can add to this, positive or negative?
"Imprint Payments, Inc. reviews are largely negative, centering on poor customer service, billing errors during account migrations (e.g., Crate & Barrel), and unexpected interest charges, leading to numerous complaints on the BBB and Reddit. While considered a legitimate lender, users frequently report issues with the app's functionality and unauthorized card closures, making it a frustrating experience for some cardholders. "

I'm going to help you out OP.
The Shell credit card offers 10 cents off each gallon of gas.
There are 5% cash back cards that give that back on gas purchases.
If gas costs $2 a gallon, each card saves you 10 cents. If gas is more, the cash back card wins.
Ditch the Shell card.

Get a Citi custom cash card. 5% back on up to $500/mo of spend in top category - just use it for gas, will get 5% cash back on all your gas assuming you dont go over $500 in a month.
On top of that, spend $1,500 over first 3 months and get an additional $200 bonus kicker.
You can use that at any gas station, not just shell, and get 5% back
10 cents back is pretty awful with today's high gas prices. As the above poster said, you would need gas to be $2/gallon to match a 5% card and under $2 gallon to beat a 5% card....gas ain't going nowhere near these numbers again.
If gas is $3.50, you're getting under 3% back with 10 cents off a gallon. A 5% cash back card destroys that.
Let's say you fill up once a week for 15 gallons at $3.50 typically over a year.
That's 780 gallons of gas a year at $2,730 of spend.
10 cents off a gallon will get you $78 back
5% back will get you $136.50 back...make sure to spend $1,500 total on the citi card in first 3 months and get an ADDITIONAL $200 back in year 1 on top of that
Easy decision
