Main one i use is a 17 inch Thinkpad but using a MacBook pro as backup/travel laptop. Kind of interesting using and comparing both systems.

Yes. I have several Macs. But my office girls are all on Windows
It is interesting to be able ti compare and contrast two. You realize how so many Windows users criticizes Macs but have obviously never used one,

Get a Windows Ultrabook. 17" isn't portable.
I converted an old laptop to Mint a few months ago, and it's way easier to use than my fumbling attempts on a Mac.
Depending on your usage of OneDrive, it could be difficult.

I use a 17 inch screen because I type from a lot of documents into a website. It's nice having the full size of the document up there next to the window.
And yes, it's quite portable. I'm just not so weak that I have to jack off to strengthen my wrists.

Yes. I like some things about both of them and dislike some things about both of them. I use my Windows devices more because so many legacy desktop apps at my place of work only run on Windows. And before anyone asks, I am not going to run an emulator in MacOS for that. Too many headaches to overcome. YMMV.

Have you ever tried Parallels? Easy to install and works like a dream

I run a Windows VM on my MacBook Pro. The things I need to do in WIndows, I do in Windows. The things I need to do in macOS, I do in macOS. Work is all Windows (except for the Marketing team). I have a Lenovo workstation laptop for heavy lifting.
Windows has become objectively terrible, and I say this as a global administrator on my Azure tenant. In my opinion, it's evolving into surveillance platform that provides just enough productivity capabilities to remain viable.
I've integrated our phone system into Teams, which is actually quite useful.
I don't need Copilot in notepad.exe. I need tight collaboration tools that don't feel sluggish on two year-old hardware. I need an email package that is light and deeply searchable. That's pretty much it, and Microsoft is flailing and failing.

I have a windows laptop for work and a MacBook Air at home.
I much prefer the Mac for "fun" like TD, YouTube, streaming, music, purchases, etc. but I'd hate to actually "work" on a Mac
