According to insider EmpireCity Box Office, next up on Universal’s agenda is “fast tracking another [Jurassic World movie] for 2027.” That depends, however, on “if they can get all the parts to fit. If not, 2028 would be it.”

The account notes, “I think they will get it done for 2027.”

While this isn’t official confirmation that Jurassic World 5 will indeed be coming in 2027 (or 2028), EmpireCity Bo Office has a good track record when it comes to release dates. T

More info expected today at the Universal panel this afternoon at Cinemacon.

I'm genuinely shocked they're continuing this series with Johanssen. I know it made money, they all do, but that movie was a complete pile of shite. Worse than Dominion and its locusts idiocy even.

The retarded family with the miserable boyfriend? Noticeable size ratio problems on screen with the dinos? Getting thrown off a boat hundreds of yards from shore and washing up on the beach at the exact time said boat crashes onto the shore? Candy wrapper in the lab unleashing the dino? Paddling in slow motion feet from a T-Rex to escape? Dinos can't live in the cold (we saw them in the cold previously)?

/insert Shameless Primitive War 2 releases in 2027 promotion in lieu of said pile of shite

quote:

“Primitive War 2” is in the works, Variety can confirm. Luke Sparke is returning to write, direct and produce the sequel through his Sparke Films. He also served as the editor, production designer and VFX supervisor on last year’s first film. The franchise is based on Ethan Pettus’ book series.

“The first film was about discovery,” Sparke said in a statement. “This is about escalation — what happens when control is lost, when nature adapts faster than military doctrine and when the war itself becomes secondary to what’s been unleashed.”

She was fine. It's not her fault the script was terrible. Just make a fun dinosaurs movie and it'll make a fortune. The last 3 have been very bad films.

This.

I don’t need to see some crazy looking genetically deformed mutant dinosaurs, like in Rebirth.

Going full retard is saying Rebirth is better than Dominion

Dominion is one of the worst movies I've ever seen

Rebirth is considerably better, even though it was a mediocre monster movie.

Jurassic Park has this weird revisionist analysis going on with the franchise where people pretend any movie other than the original was good, too. But trying to create some weird alternative history where Dominion was anything other than one of the worst movies ever made is just crazy talk.

You're insane. Rebirth is quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen, it shouldn't even have the Jurassic brand on it. Lost World and JP3 were mostly meh and killed the franchise for awhile, although the T-Rex attack in LW and the Spinosaurus/Pteranodon in JP3 were cool.

Jurassic World was good, Jurassic World II was also good through the first half of the film except possibly the dino market which is sort of out of place--it's more horror movie than Rebirth could ever dream to be and didn't have to market itself as such.

Dominion was fairly bad overall but had some decent action moments.

Rebirth has no redeeming qualities at all as a film or entertainment

The original Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies of all time. Not just because of the spectacle, but also because it had some depth to it. It presented a fascinating scientific/moral dilemma of whether humanity should meddle with powers beyond it's control. But in 2026, the franchise is just cinema fast food. Empty calories. Schlock. I walked out of the theater after Rebirth and forgot about the movie before I even got home.

Lost World had some dumb shite in it but it's Citizen Kane compared to the recent films.

For me Rebirth was just a passionless, boring, paint by numbers mediocre action movie. Dominion felt more like a slap in the face to the fans akin to The Last Jedi where I just got pissed off watching it. It was also at least as boring as Rebirth.

Even OG JP has dumb shite in it and things you can nitpick if you try. It's an absolutely amazing movie, the standard of which can't be replicated, but standards shift with the JP franchise dramatically. It's just this weird thing that's developed over time. For some reason it seemed to go full retard with Rebirth.

Take the family in Rebirth. Clearly added as something to care about. But it's no worse than Malcolm's daughter in JP2, and nothing in Rebirth is as dumb as the gymnastics portion of Lost World (which was, again, performed by the same forced kids you're supposed to care about that people melt about with Rebirth). All of the JP movies force in kids to try to mimic that drama in the OG. It's dumb in all of the sequels.

JP3 and Dominion are bottom of the barrel, with Dominion being solidly lower in that barrel. Again, if you are overly nitpicky you can rip these movies apart like none other. Dominion's bad was locusts, not even dinosaurs.

You're not wrong, but it at least had some really good sequences for being that. Some of the best in the JP franchise.

It did meta better than any JP sequel, too. The rip on the raptor was the rare A+ meta that was so subtle most people didn't notice it. Movies trying to be meta today usually force it and make it so obvious it's bad.

to me that is the problem with this whole franchise.

The first one is on a different tier of spectacle. Its an all time movie in cinema history that is impossible to replicate.

Any and all movies made from this IP always will be compared to the first which is impossible.

You mean there isn't a gaggle of 5'2" 120 lb. female spec ops warriors roaming around?

I agree fully. But it's also that all of the sequels are not good, so to compare them is to compare them on various levels of not being good.

She was freaking stacked in this scene

The dumbest part to me was the herd of 100 foot long and 60 feet tall Titanosaurus hiding in 6 foot tall grass
