re: We all are aware LSU is not Kiffins dream job/destination
Posted by John Casey on 1/16/26 at 1:16 pm to partsman103
I don't get all of the hate Kiffin gets for job hopping. Most of his jumps were a natural progression and the only poorly handled one was Tennessee, and that was for his "dream job."
USC Assistant - 6 years - left to be NFL head coach
Raiders Head Coach - 2 years - fired (not his choice)
Tennessee Head Coach - 1 year - left for better job
USC Head Coach - 4 years - fired (not his choice)
Alabama Assistant - 3 years - left to be head coach again
FAU Head Coach - 3 years - left for better job
Ole Miss Head Coach - 6 years - left for better job

Because Kiffin had no need for Kelly's players and let them walk.
Kiffin is still in the process of bringing in players that fit his scheme and does not need everyone signed by the time the transfer portal closes on 1/16.

Indiana winning would be the better story but Maimi being back would get more click and views.

I don’t like the way the program is going but let’s not pretend he wasn’t set up to fail. I don’t remember the number but pretty sure we lost everyone after Wade was fired
Vanderbilt seems to be doing fine after getting rid of Stackhouse and Stackhouse had a better record than McMahon.

Here ya' go. Looks like Lane is one spot above Pete as of the time of this writing.
Wrong year, boss.
You have to change the year to 2026.
As of 3:45 PM, 1/14/2026, On3 has:
Ole Miss - #7
LSU - #16
On3 includes all the Transfers Out in its calculation.
On 247, which only counts Transfers In:
LSU - #1
Ole Miss - #5

No way he lets the kicker kick 55 yard FG.
You could probably count on 1 hand the number of coaches that would trust a college kicker to make a 55+ yarder.
Golding is either one of the smartest or one of the dumbest/luckiest.
Lucas Carneiro was 1 for 2 in 50+ yarders in the entire regular season. He was 4 for 5 in the 2 playoff games.

I haven't been to many, but New Orleans, Nashville, and Chicago were all walkable to nightlife and city activities.
re: Ridiculous College Football Playoff Timeline
Posted by John Casey on 1/13/26 at 3:02 pm to hashtag
The entire college football calendar is stupid because the calendar is seemingly built around serving the Rose Bowl.
College football could pretty easily find 3 weeks in the schedule:
1. Make week 0 the official week 1 and start of the season
2. Eliminate Conference Championship game weekend
3. Eliminate Army/Navy and Awards weekend
Then do whatever you have to do to end the season on New Years Day or the Saturday after New Years Day.
College football is meant to be played on Saturdays. All this random Monday, Thursday, and Friday night garbage needs to end.

This is stupid.
Either everyone pays state income tax or no one pays state income tax.

re: How is the SEC so deep in women’s basketball?

The SEC spends money on women's basketball and baseball when other conferences don't.

We might have different definitions of hammering, lol.
It will all be flipped next year if LSU starts winning with Ole Miss fans being made fun of week to week over the Kiffin situation.

The crazy thing is Underwood's deal was 10m over 3-4 years ($2.5-$3.3/season). Looks like a bargain compared to the supposed $5.5/season we're paying for Leavitt.
And Underwood can renegotiate simply by entering the portal, lol.

It was her own dog and it was a chihuahua, lol.
Jennifer Lawrence was called out as “awful” after revealing she rehomed her chihuahua named Princess Pippi Longstocking because it bit her son.
Fans quickly jumped online to criticize the “Hunger Games” actress, 35, after she joked that she wanted to “obliterate every dog” in light of the incident at a screening of her movie “Die My Love” in New York City Wednesday.

SEC was paying players on a scale not done anywhere else in the country
I don't believe this is true at all.
The top schools like Texas, Oklahoma, Miami, Ohio State, Michigan, USCw, and Oregon have been paying players just as much as the top SEC schools in the past.

Next years selection Committee won't be so kind as we now have 3 years of evidence of being exposed.
There won't be any change.
The only potential change would be Notre Dame gets in over Bama, but I'm not even sure that would happen because the Committee, ESPN, and Conference Championship games are all too involved with each other.
Utah and BYU aren't getting in over an SEC team with similar record and there were no 2 loss Big 10 teams this year to place over the 2 loss SEC schools.
