The Fairmont is being put into the top floors of the 1010 Common building.

He will open up Delmonico Steakhouse on the ground floor, as well as a casual breakfast and lunch place called The Cafe.

No word yet on what he is doing with the 34 property

I guess his flagship place is doing well (although, I’m not convinced of how ultimately sustainable it is long term), but his business decisions of late have been a bit head scratching.

I think Emeril's overpriced restaurants have run it's course

He's definitely trying to set his son up with a variety of businesses

Steakhouses are kind of tried and true, people go to them and spend stupid money. And Delmonico is a name, and the Fairmont is a name as well.

The NOLA restaurant scene is in a very very bad place though. We have never escaped from the double whammy of Latoya and Covid.

Is there a “steakhouse” that’s opened in New Orleans in the past 20 years that has really killed it from a business standpoint?

I suspect this might just be more the property owner throwing some money at him to generate a buzz and give their property (which is kinda a shitty location, truth be told) some perceived luxury/name cache.

The Husky seems to do very well.

The Desi Vega in metry despite being absolutely terrible and a large space always seems to do ok

Doris Metropolitan

Demonico was vastly overrated and overpriced. Bringing it back is a bad idea.
I find most restaurants attached to
High end hotels usually don’t do that well.
Maybe they sustain themselves with the guests during the busy season but I rarely see or hear of anyone dining out at these high end hotel restaurants

It's terrible on the Northshore as well.

This is surprising, especially based on how poorly 34 did with a multi-million dollar buildout.

That's also a very awkward location.

He clearly isn’t aiming for you and the Golden Corral crowd. Maybe you can hope for a Sizzler comeback?
