Why are aces like Peavy and Oswalt declining to go there.

crappy place for pitchers to go

it's up there with COL and NYY for worst pitcher's parks

and going from NL to AL is not very appealing for pitchers anyway....ESPECIALLY via trade. now huge FA contract is something else

I don't think I'd be to big on being told by the manager to throw at people.

meh

that's not a big deal at all....just part of the game

we had a pretty funny signal from the cather to throw at a batter

bird finger down
index finger or pinky pointed at batter (depending on lefty or righty)
thumb up

frick
him
up

I don't know about that. Pitchers throwing at people certainly is, but being told to is a different matter. Nothing appealing about making the decision to defy your manager or get ejected.

Yeah man, you are just wrong there - I suspect you like the Sox and I have no issue with the team. But Ozzie is a pretty big prick.

Ozzie may be a prick, but telling him to throw at a player has nothing to do with it

he's not telling them to throw 90+ at their head

hell, pitcher can hit him with a batting practice curveball in the butt that really doesnt hurt all that much.

US Cellular Field and Ozzie. Not the head hunting crap, baseball players are not down with the kind of antics he generally pulls.

They talked about this on Mike and Mike the other day. It's the ball park....and the fact baseballs don't stay in it. The pitching coach is supposed to be a great guy and coach.

+100... Who wants to go to south Chicago to pitch in a batters park with a manager that you never know what he's going to do next.

I would love too...it'd be a nice raise from my current day job.
