When it first opened, I heard nothing but absolutely rave reviews, but recently I have heard some lessor things. It might have just been taste preferences though. I have not been, but I've been dying to go since they opened.

Anyone been? How is it?
I've been six times and I love this place. I have only been for lunch on weekends. My parents and their friends go often for dinner and they all rave about it. It is really good. IMO it just might be the best new restuarant in the city.
A good friend of mine, Robert Peyton, has a food blog(appetites.us) he loves it. Best french fries in town, best brisket in town, best boudin balls in town and many surprises.
Go, the value and quality are unmatched.
Boucherie gets a huge thumbs-up from the glassman.

Haha glassman you're friends with the Dread Pirate? Between him, blackened out (whom I know from high school), and a couple lesser blogs, they do a good job of covering the scene. Peyton's wit/awesome pictures are great though.

IMO makes Fitzmorris look like a chump.

We went once for a weekend lunch. I thought it was pretty good but wouldn't rave about it like glassman. My wife didn't care for it. My only complaint was that the menu was sorta limited which is normally fine by me but my wife is sorta a picky eater. I thought what I got was good but I can't remember what it was. My wife got chicken dish that had a green sauce (can't remember exactly what it was but it was on a lot of the dishes) that I didn't particularly care for.

Like that's a real accomplishment.

You mean it wouldn't be hard to top a guy that writes gems such as this-
"Deft Dining Rule #435: Any sno-ball will taste better with one-third less syrup than the pimply kid making it will probably want to flood it with".
Btw, he was whining on the radio yesterday that the chowhound guys deleted his post he put on their board about the charity event. He gets constantly pawned on the various internet sites by people who are familiar with this tired shtick.

I honestly have zero exposure to him, and desire to keep it as such. All my food news comes from various internets.

I feel the same way. I found the small plates to be better than the entrees but I wasn't really blown away....except for the fries which were some of the best that I've had.
I have to say that the boudin balls were cooked perfectly and the aioli that came with it was incredible...but I found the inside of the balls to be a little too mushy for my taste and too bland.

I share these assessments of the place.
I've only been once, though.
