Someone just posted on the lake fishing board with a picture of a limit of damn nice looking trout.
Middle of Causeway span.

So stupid. Many innocent people would die. Many of them want the current regime out of power.

I don't agree that the threat of ground action is meaningless. We may well find ways to weaken the regime with sporadically use of ground forces against specific targets throughout the country

I agree. You have to think there are some important targets in smaller cities or the outskirts of cities that either us or our friends could send in special forces to attack.

This makes me wonder if Iran may start shooting at its neighbors and US ships to try to get us to start bombing again.

I’m catching up on the thread tonight and was wondering why we have allowed Iran to still have any navy at all?
Seems like every boat larger than a bass boat would have been destroyed before the cease fire.

re: a national parks thread

I freaking love this thread!
Just last week I ordered a national park simple guide book where there is a picture and journal area in the book as well as a spot to put a sticker on the ones you visit.

I’ve only been to three so far that I want to count.
Smokey mountains, Denali, and Hot Springs.
I’ve set a goal to hit all of them by them by the age of 65.
I went to Yosemite a long long time ago and I barely remember it so I’m going to have to go back. As I’ve gotten older I really don’t much care for big cities any longer.
I know tomorrow night is Easter so I’m not expecting much to be open other than Chinese places. Lunch on Monday?

Those sound amazing.
Planning a 2 or 3 night stay next week and I’ve never been. From what I know the national park itself can be seen in one day. What else is in the area.
I found some cool arse tree house and dome places to stay a little outside of the town.

I will probably look into any Inns or B&Bs in the middle of things also.

When I leave Hot Springs I’m thinking about heading northwest from there for a few nights.

As long as you season the pot I guess dusting can’t hurt.
Nobody I know does dusting. They just season the pot really well so the dust is not needed.
For anyone interested, on April 18th, St Catherine of Sienna will have their crawfish festival. 40 teams cooking. The early bird pricing is $20 or $25 and it’s all you can eat all day plus two bands. I think early bird pricing ends on April 6th.

It’s called the Old Metairie Crawfish Festival if you want to look it up.

Repeat this very slowly…. Supply and demand.

And yes prices are high now because demand is greater than supply. And yes the prices always spike for Easter weekend.
And they will go down right after because many people don’t want to eat them again for a while after the Easter weekend boils.

And this this crazy thing starts happening. The weather gets warmer and more crawfish start getting caught.
$4.50 to $6.00

One market by me does what they call whacky Wednesday where they will lower the price. They had them at $4.50.

This is where a few other counties need to step up and help. I’m sure we can and will get the strait back open, but others should contribute.
