Just bought my first 6 pack today from Matherne's on Bluebonnet. They only had 5 cases which surprised me.

From what I keep hearing, not good. Sounds like Abita tried to go a little left field on this and not do something that would appeal to the main stream beer drinker. Very little citrus flavor.

I will have some by this weekend and will post about it.

It is unremarkable.

They should have learned from the success of the strawberry beer and made the citris flavor in the Satsuma Harvest more dominant. They didnt have to hedge and just make a regular beer with a touch of the flat satsuma tones. They could have made it "in your face" like the Strawberry brew. People either loved the Strawberry brew or hated it.. and that's why it sold a ton.

I can tell they were going for a very light beer, for the summer and it is definately a refreshing beer that needs to be cold and is best enjoyed on a hot day.

I think the last seasonal beer got everyone's hopes too high. The pecan ale was pretty unique, as well.

I am unimpressed. NO citrus flavor at all. Freakin bust, seriously. Get a six pack if you want to, but it isnt that great honestly. Ok IMHO.

P.S. Drinking it right now.

I must be a outlier. But I thought the satsuma's citrus flavor was dominant while the strawberry beer you only get a hint of strawberry right at the end.

Unlike most previous posters I like it. Tastes like a Wit beer should. It's not supposed to be friggin orange juice.

yeah, my impression was that they were shooting for a witbier, not a fruit beer. I haven't tried it yet but I'll look for it now that I know it's out.

It's not particularly compelling as a witbier, in fact it's not as good as Blue Moon.

This is true, a traditional witbier has a dash of orange peel in it.

This is basically Abita's foray into the Belgian Wheat market to compete with Blue Moon and Hoegaarden. It wasn't bad. Definitely reminded me of Blue Moon with the orange zest in the beer already.

It has to be very cold but Blue Moon is way better. Kind of disappointed in it.

I have really liked pretty much everything Abita has done. The oatmeal stout was my favorite. I just don't like this beer.
Maybe it is only going to be something that the true beer conisieur really appreciates and that is all fine and good, but they are not going to sell alot of this stuff.
