I've seen posts like that on other boards too, In fact, someone brought it up on the Hogs board, and wouldn't you know it, one of them asked "Did the place smell like corndogs?". One of them even asked about the origin of "corndogs" (he assumed it was about LSU), after making a joke about it. So, in conclusion, you see the "corndog" reference in response to anything good about LSU, but some dumbass has nothing of substance to add and lacks the intellect to respond appropriately. OK, I got that off my chest.

The corndog reference is the dumbest insult in all of college sports. Louisiana is not known for corndogs, LSU has nothing to do with corndogs. It really makes no sense.

Absolutely. We are known for our food, and our tailgating. When there are over 100,000 people on campus tailgating for the Florida game, you will be hard pressed to find 1 freakin’ corndog.

This whole thread gets sidetracked with "corndog" talk, but the link has nothing to do with that. I thought the Viriginia fans were very complimentary and believed that LSU should have been seeded higher.

The joke is that LSU fans have an odor and smell like corndogs, not that we like to eat them.
Following that logic I guess we should ask if it smells like lube and goat vagina whenever alabama or auburn fans get brought up, Ole Miss fans would just smell like their cousin.

I don't think that's exactly the joke either. Very few opponents know about the origin, even though they use it a lot, but a lot of LSU fans don't know the origin either.

I assume someone made that conclusion by observing Gator fans at games or on campus. Don't know of any other way to come up with that. However, I've never witnessed corndog tailgates, LSU fans walking around with them, etc.
