...I for one am fed up with the quality of the grass at TS. It's nothing more than spray painted sand. Field turf looks great--better than real grass. I hope that LSU will see the light and install field turf. The grass now is pathetic.

Have you even seen the field recently? Its in pretty good shape right now and will only get better as summer rolls on.

plus our team strength will always be speed. But it looks like we'll be playing on brown dirt for years to come because Alleva said he thinks field turf isn't in the tradition of football and he is old school.

LSU consistently has the worst looking turf in the SEC. I believe LSU blames it on the steepness and position of the stadium blocking out sunlight in the fall.

I thought they shot down the field turf idea because of heat during a day game.

Yeah the upper decks block out a lot of sunlight but all things considered the field looks pretty damn good right now and all this rain we have been getting has to help some.

I guess you'll want the baseball field to be all turf like Tulane's field.

I think TS should be grass, but it seems they just can't get it right. It's a complete embarassment that a agriculture school such as LSU is unable to keep a good natural turf in TS. We have all heard the excuses through the last few years and most hold no water for me. They have unlimited resources to get it done right and still can't, for whatever reason. I say if we get more of the same this year, switch to field turf and be done with it.
