A new TS?

Considering how bad TS has started to look and how nice and state of the art most of the other SEC Schools stadiums are compared to TS, should LSU build a new TS?
Would you want them to?

renovate... sooner or later they are going to have to do a major over haul i'd think though. dont know if the team would be displaced or try to do it in steps in the offseason...

No. No. No. Just renovate it.

TS looked worse in the 90's before the new upper decks - the bowl part just needs to be renovated inside and out - I think they are looking into it - Alleva has mentioned it recently.

A double decker bowl similar to Rocky Top is what I imagine.

We can't afford to send the entire band to the Washington game, somehow I don't see a new stadium being built anytime very soon.

The suites are updated and the player facilities are updated. Everything else is second fiddle.

Face it, big time recruits look at things like this.
With Bama, Tenn and everyone else having really amazing new state of the art stadiums, sooner or later its going to happen. We will have to compete for this kids that see NFL type stadiums they can play in.
I love ole TS but all we have done is patch pot holes. To stay at the top program wise, we need to be on par with other SEC schools.
I think this is a legit question.

Never going to happen...at least in our lifetime. The state would never go for it. Keep in mind it is a public institution.
If Huey P were still alive, I would say it is a possibility.

It is a legit question, but the answer is no.

They just added on and renovated their current stadiums.
A renovated TS would be better than those two.

I dont think it would happen anytime in the next decade but I think at some point it will.
We are already falling behind other SEC schools

Have you ever been to another SEC venue?
Almost all of them except Vandy and Arkansas.
Have you seen the upgrades at Tenn yet?

The old lady isnt close to being state of the art anything and I have a suite. Its nice but most of the place looks rough.

You are looking at maybe 250 mill for a new stadium or more. The baseball stadium was how much and that only seats about 10,000, when you talk about seating 100,000 plus then what do you think?
I would love to see a new stadium but you and I both know that want happen.
Love Death Valley no better place in all the land to see and watch a ballgame on a Saturday Night.

What do you think is more important to the recruits? The windows on the empty dorm rooms or the new locker rooms, the new IFF, the new football practice facility, what it looks like walking through the tunnel at night and seeing all the lights on, etc. Posted on 7/27/09 at 5:07 pm to Ray Ray Rodman

you obviously haven't seen neyland lately. it, like tiger stadium, is around 80 years old. they just have built a giant erector set on top of the original. alabama is still using their original stadium as well. they both have just RENOVATED. also, neyland won;t be finished for 10 years. all they have done to it is add a front facade that looks like shite IMO
