What hurt last season more...QB play or poor defense?

Just wondering...
QB play was marginal at best.
It's hard to win games spotting them 6 points off pick 6's and turnovers.
Defense looked like they were out of position particularly in the secondary with the safety's much of the season
One defensive lineman tried out for punter in the arkansas game (during the game) costing us a turnover on downs.
As to not be too negative. What do you think we are going to do to fix these things? Playing Chad Jones at his natural position at safety vrs. a Harry Coleman for example. Lets ponder...

i don't know how you can separate the two. interceptions lead to a bad defense being on the field more which leads to a tired bad defense which leads to quick scores for the other team which leads to interception prone QB being back on the field to start the vicious cycle again and again and again.

Poor QB play was somewhat of a factor in poor play on D. D gets a stop and QB throws a pick, D has to go right back out on the field. Thats not good.

Defense. Now that the question is answered can we move on or do you want to talk about JL transfering?

How about the defense that the offense played on all of those pick 6's?

That was the worst season long quaterbacking of an LSU team I've personally ever seen. That goes back to the early 1970's.
The defense was subpar, but not even close to the worst Tiger D in my memory.

Not true. A lot of those picks were returned for TDs so the D got an extra long break before they had to go back on the field. DUHHHHH.

If the defense does it's job. Then the other team only has 6 points now doesn't it ?

Defense. It's pretty clear the plan was to manage the O (w/Hatch) and play good D. That shite went out the window real quick.

Yes

too many marlon favorites, RJFs, and D-Byrds on the team. Couple that with inept coaching on defense and you get a 8-5 season that could have easily been 6-7.

Defense.
Last year was an abomination. The co-defensive coordinators were dunces and should have never been elevated to that position in the first instance. Their playcalling was uninspired, their personnel decisions were curious, their scheme was transparent, they were susceptible to the same ploys week after week (e.g. fast slot receiver versus a slower linebacker or nickel back), and the unit lacked motivation. Good riddance.
3-5 overall in the SEC (horrendous)
1-3 versus the SEC in Tiger Stadium (absolutely inexcusable)
0-4 in their last four SEC games (disgusting)
This team has a great deal to prove. Any return to glory must begin with an improved defense.
