Easye,

How's business been at your place?

I haven't made it by there but I've heard the shrimps and grits are good.

This is a very good Baton Rouge Restaurant-can hold its own to most N.O. offerings.

Enjoy

The gf and I went with another couple last night and really had a great time. The place has a pretty cool atmosphere with lots of pretty hostesses/waitresses/bartenders running around. Our waitress was knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions without having to ask for help.

My beer was offered to me in a bottle or a frosty glass (I'm a sucker for a frosty glass). Didn't look too hard at the wine-list but I noticed that they had some wines from local owners who own shares of vineyards in Hungary.

For appetizers we had the Duck Braised Babybacks, Crab and Artichoke Crepes. Both were great! If I had to just pick one I'd go with the babybacks. The appetizer portions were just right for our table. Everyone got a nice sampling without filling up. They also brought us out some bread which was baked there with a sweet honey butter that was very tasty. Waitress said that pretty much everything from the hamburger buns to the cheesecake is made in house.

The gf and I split a caesar salad and it was ok. The croutons were pretty good. The other couple with us split the blue cheese wedge and loved it. There was plenty of salad for two I would recommend a split.

For our entrees I had the 9oz prime filet and it was perfect. For my side I had the Pave potatoes which were similar to au gratin and were enough for everyone at the table to eat some. The gf ate some scallops which she really enjoyed. The other couple really enjoyed their food but I can not recall what they ate.

To finish it all off we had 3 different desserts. The flourless chocolate cake was a chocolate lovers dream. I didn't get to try the Creme Brule so I guess it was so good they didn't want to share. My favorite was the cheesecake. I love a good piece of homemade cheesecake!

All in all the service was an A
The food would be an A-
The atmosphere would be an A
and I will be coming back.

Special note: I did ask for Eric the manager and spoke with him briefly about the restaurant and the way they do things. I was impressed and I am really pulling for this place to make it. Baton Rouge needs more restaurants like this. If you go in ask for him and tell him you post on Tigerdroppings!
