led the league in TDs before he got injured? Really? The dude got 2 TDs against the worst kick coverage team in the history of the NFL. To think he'd have kept that up against teams that actually put out a kick return defense is silly.

If I am not mistaken, had he kept his pace, he'd have averaged 16 TDs if healthy. Didn't MJD have 20 TDs rushing alone last season?

Bush is a solid player with great potential, but please don't blow the dude's play out of proportion based on what happened in the Minnesota game.

Starting a thread about it... Contradiction?

People make that point because it is the best solid fact about Reggie Bush's upside. He might not have huge numbers anywhere else, but he knows the end zone well. With so many people bashing him it gets said a lot over and over. The only way to get it to stop is to put the argument to bed. It won't happen so enjoy it.

That is a ridiculous and illogical argument.

I am not against Bush, and I hope as a Saints fan that he has a great year. I am not going to buy into that BS argument.

It is equivalent to saying that Jarrett Lee is going to be a great QB after the Auburn game last season.

Reality is the stats are good, but misleading. The dude played well, but to expect him to get opportunities like against Minnesota again is utterly idiotic.

His game against Tampa Bay definitely did showcase his potential though. I hope we see more of that this year against quality teams.

honestly if he scores 20 tds rushing the ball or 20 td's combined, what difference does it make. its still a 120 points.

so ok, take away the two punt returns in the vikings game... Thats still 12 TD's... Give him credit for 1 of those two, and thats 14TD's...

This is a stupid thread even without those td'ds thats production...

And no MJD didnt have 20 Rushing td's last year...

Edited: MJD had 13tds his rookie year and 12tds rushing last year...

My mistake on MJD, but I must be mixing him up with Deangelo Williams who had 18 rushing and 2 receiving TDs, thus 20 total from scrimmage.

The point was people claiming he was leading the league at the time of his injury. It's nice, but doesn't need to been blown out of proportion.

the dude was a hoss on the fantasy side before the injury

I don't see why people try to shite on reggie. He's a HUGE threat when he has open field to run. He's got potential to blow a play wide open. All I can say is this, ask Brees if he would like reggie on or off his team. You know his answer already. Brees has more credibility than any of us no talent horribly opinionated fricks. Also, I dont give a shite who you are, no other player in the league ran 3 tds against the vikings (a professional team that includes legitimate ballers) special teams last year. Don't downplay that, its like your saying that these guys suck when they really don't.

Agreed. I am glad that he is on the Saints. I realize the potential he has, and he can get his head out of his arse on running plays, the man would be amazing. I just tired of criticism of Bush and his ability to be a running back being countered with "he led the league in TDs before his injury".

That's great, but has little to do with his ability as a running back. I really hope his vision improves and he starts hitting the holes hard.

news flash buddy. if the o line doesn allow people in the back field reggie will get positivew yards. he will never be a rb than runs people over. thats not what we drafted him for. he wont be like deuce or adrian peterson in terms of rushing yards ever. but his toal yards and td's may be comparable one day though.

Maybe they were the worst kick coverage team in the history of the NFL BECAUSE they faced Reggie.
