took a trip to Sonny's BBQ

I got the pulled pork, and it seemed to have been pulled a few days before I got there. The sides we're average. (mac and cheese and corn nuggets). I will never return.

I haven't been in a while, just never on that side of town.
I've been to the one right outside of Pensacola several times and it is very good. Better than the one down here for sure.

Sonny's will never compete with a low volume mom and pop BBQ joint. However, for decent BBQ at a good price Sonny's is tough to top.

yep. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day. I did not really like Voodoo all that much much, but it is ten fold better Sonny's IMO. I'm looking forward to trying pimanyoli's sometime soon.

I disagree. VooDoo is 10 x worse on a daily basis.

I love Sonny's. I pick up from there every now and then when I'm in that area since I live no where near there. I always get the brisket, mac and cheese and baked beans. YUM!!

I disagree, too. Voodoo sucks 1000X more than Sonny's. Sonny's is actually one of the best BBQ places in BR. It is not the best BBQ in the world, but it is better than most of the garbage in BR.

Sonny's baked beans are freakin awesome...
i find their BBQ to be OK. It's good for the prices, and I've never been disgusted by any of it...
