but if we win out, and bama looses to state and auburn (i know unlikely)
why does bama win the west?
if they loose to 2 west teams and we only loose to 1 east team and 1 west team

they beat us head to head

so its head to head match up first?
or is it overall SEC record, then head to head.

In a two-way tie breaker, head-to-head is the first one.

Honestly, I think that needs to change.
Only your games in the SEC West should count to be SEC West champs. Then, allow a rotation of the three teams we play in the east. Being declared SEC West champs with them having two losses to SEC West teams while LSU could end up with only 1 makes little sense. Then again, saying that the review booth isn't working as an excuse for not reviewing a spot inspite of the fact that the game is televised by CBS, doesn't make sense either.

the overall sec record counts, doesn't matter whether they are east or west. we'd both have 2 sec losses and they win the tie breaker cause they beat us.

Not an East-West thing. An overall conference record thing, with head-to-head result as first tiebreaker.
Go back to class.

The subject of your thread says it all.

true... but lets look at a hypothetical scenario if SEC WEst victories were the first thing looked at.
Say that we lose to UGA, Vandy, and Florida
Say Bama wins all of their (East and West) games before they meet us
We (0 SEC west losses & 3 SEC East losses) beat Bama (1 sec west loss &0 SEC East losses)
Do we really deserve to go the SEC championship game in this scenario

i am going to have to disagree with this. we will have the same record and they have the head to head win.
makes perfect sense to me.

... except they didn't play Florida. We got Georgia and Florida. They got Tennessee and South Carolina.
I don't really have a problem with Bama in that one though. If we had ended up tied with Ole Miss, then it would've SUCKED!
... and Bama did beat us head-to-head.

LSU 2 SEC Losses
Bama 2 SEC Losses
Bama wins head to head
LSU could pull an Ole Miss and claim Co-Champs

Well, lets get rid of the rule you must play teams from the east. They shouldn't count in your west record. Bama had the easier side with Tenn, South Carolina and Kentucky. We played Florida and Georgia plus Vandy.
Anyway, I would rather we just play 5 SEC West games and then LSU can schedule whoever it wants to schedule. The winner of the West faces the winner of the East. Look back at 2006. Had it gone by that rule, LSU would have been the SEC West champ and played Florida in the SEC Championship game. That would have been a much better game that year.

I've said this since they split into divisions.
