and we are very, very even with Alabama. The injuries were a killer. I know they are part of the game, but it was just some bad luck. After watching the replay, I think we win the game if JJ doesn't go down. Either way, this talk of Alabama running off and leaving us in the dust is just ludicrous. They made a couple of plays and we had some bad luck......that's it. If we played them 10 times it would split 5 and 5 in my view. Can't wait for next year already.

i think when most people take their emotions out of it (natural as time passes) and watch the game sober they will see the same thing. i'm not anti-booze, i just watched this game and the florida game w/0 drinking and i was amazed at what some of the posters commented; hell, it was like we watched different games. bama got all of the breaks in this game, the injuries, the calls or no calls at critical times. yes, sometimes we actually committed the penalties, but it is still a break for bama. both JJ'S and Charles Scotts injuries were plain bad luck; both landed wrong. bama didn't have a damn thing to do with 'em. we have a damn good team and a real chance to run the table and set the table to kick some arse next year.

That is usually the only thing that seperates two great football teams.

Team Stats
LSU Alabama
First downs 13 24
Rushes-Yards 29-95 38-176
Passing Yards 158 276
Return Yards 107 89
Comp-Att-Int 14-27-1 19-34-1
Sacks-Yds Lost 3--27 1--2
Punts 8 4
Punts-Average 46.6 37.8
Fumbles Lost 0-0 1-0
Penalties - Yards 8-43 4-20
Time of Possession 27:08 32:52

What, in these stats, leads you to believe LSU=BAMA? I too rewatched the game and can see where Bama missed opportunities to open the score up to match the statistical inequity.

Not looking at stats my friend. Stats are for losers quite frankly. Also, your stats reflect the fact that our quarteback and running back did not play most of the 2nd half and 79 of your yards came when our best corner was on the bench. Once again....not crying, just pointing out the breaks that went Bama's way. You can bend stat all you want. I am just saying when you watch the game without emotion, you can see the missed opportunites on BOTH sides and that both teams are virtually equal. I do give Bama credit for taking advantage of more opportunites than LSU did. Kudos to them and a big pat on the back.

masochist (those are your words, New Years baby

I sure didn't agonize, bleed, hurt, mourn, sorrow, or suffer while at the same time, my eyes got to feast on some real cultured and beautiful women in this metro library ...

not like the skirt dragging, boob popping pictures on the OT board but real live ones ...

Well, for starters, you could subtract Jones' run from the yardage total since he was sprung by an obvious (and of course) uncalled block in the back. You could add a few yards to the LSU side of the ledger ... like the 15 yards for spearing that wasn't called. You could add the yards that LSU would have gained if the ball had been spotted correctly on Jefferson's 3d down run on the first drive.

I'll agree that stats don't always tell the whole story, but most of the time they tell you a lot. And in this case, when you look at these stats and rewatch the game.... well it's probably useless to sell my point here. BTW Bama's 2nd and 3rd string RBs would have had big games with the holes that were being opened in the 2nd half. And Bama's defense has had some key injuries as well. Additional notes: P. Peterson is a MAN. Helluva game by him. Jefferson exposed a hole in the middle of the Bama D. Coaching staff probably could have used it more. Best of luck the rest of the way, see y'all next year.

I have to say the injury situation burned us pretty good. I don't like to use injury as an excuse but there is no doubt it hurt us a bunch.
