In 1995 (when overtime had not yet come) Gerry Dinardo decided to kick an extra point in the back end of the game against South Carolina instead of going for two and the win. That decision resulted in a tie game and cost LSU the West Championship.

Scenario's in 1995 in South Carolina game.

Get a two point conversion = West Champs
Fail on two point conversion = 2nd place
Kick an extra point = 2nd place

Gerry Dinardo not choosing to go for the west championship still hurts more than Miles not calling time out in the Ole Miss game.

Auburn 1994 is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to LSU football woes.

Damn Curly Hallman
Damn Jamie Howard
Damn Lynn Amadee
Damn you fat boy Terry Bowden

help me here, but wasn't that game in the middle of the season? I don't recall there being any way Gerry could have known he was giving up the west.

Also, was this the game in which Shedrick Wilson made a # of big catches?

That doesn't make sense.

LSU lost 3 conference games after the SC tie. How could that scenario have even been in play at the time? Maybe at the end of the season that scenario was true, but at the time I'm sure Dinardo didn't expect to lose to Florida, Kentucky and Alabama after the SC tie.

yes to all

and it was dinardo's first year- a tie on the road is better than a loss when trying to rebuild

Mine would be during Sabans first year when LSU lost to UAB in TIger Stadium.

My gripe with Dinardo was the Auburn game when Cecil Collins just could not be stopped in the 4th. qtr. and on a crucitial 4th.and 1 Dinardo decides to have Tyler roll out and throw for it instead of handing the ball off to Collins. Auburn took over and drove down the field for the winning score. In that game Collins ran all over Takeo Spikes for a long touchdown.

I agree 1000% on Amedee. He was the one who kept calling for passes in the late stages of the game that led to Auburn winning. Yes Howard was throwing up turkeys, but only upon command. Amedee should have been fired on the field at the end of that game. He wasn't and blamed everything on Howard, threw him under an M1Abrams tank after the game.

The only LSU game that made me literally sick to my stomach.

You could say the exact same thing about Crowton/Ole Miss.

To me, Auburn 1997 was worse. Had LSU won, they would have represented the west in Atlanta.

Why in the hell do you throw the ball on third and short instead of handing it to Collins who was gashing the Auburn defense all night long? Had we picked up the first down, we run out the clock and win. Instead, we punt and Auburn comes down to score to win.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm not sure if we had even played Florida at that time.

Hard to say which moment was worse for me, but none where during Miles era:

The infamous Jamie Howard game vs Auburn already mentioned ranks high.

The '93 game under Hallman vs Fla 58-3 just was embarassing.

But, the maddest I ever was as a Tiger Fan, was the '97 loss to Ole Miss, one week after one of my highest moments (at that time) in beating #1 Fla.............

my worst moments probably belong to Josh Booty

Trying to be Mike Vick against Bama and dive into the end zone as time expired (with at least 3 people open in the end zone)... fail

2 point conversion throw for the win tipped by a LB in the final seconds at UGA. I guess it was a nice play, but the dude (can't remember who it was) was wide the frick open in the back of the end zone.

Awful performance against UAB

The 1st half of the 2000 Peach Bowl

What else am I missing?

Yeah, your whole scenerio thing doesn't really pan out due to the timing of the game. I will say this though, 2 games removed from the "bring the magic" back game and it does seem like perhaps Dinardo should have gambled like Les did in '07 when we had a "team of destiny" feel.

As I remember also, Faulk really broke out in that game.
