Archie and Eli in Lauderdale

I chatted with Archie and Eli at the Weston hotel Sunday morning, thanked him for all he as done for NO, they both shooked my hand and thanked me for the kind words.
As a long time Saints fan (sold beer in 69-71) at Tulane Stadium, I think all of the people who raked Peyton over the coals are crazy.

Agree 100%. Also, ask him if his hatred of everything LSU is why neither of his boys even gave LSU a look.

When did N.O. come in to the Eli sweepstakes? If I remember correctly, he didn't want to go to San Diego (which ultimately sent Brees to N.O. when they drafted Eli and traded for Rivers) and opted for N.Y. Not sure why someone would rather be in the cold northeast as opposed to the sunny west coast, but that's me.
We ended up drafting Will Smith at 18 or so. Worked out for everyone. NY go Eli. SD got Rivers. And the Saints got a stud DE and franchise QB. No complaints here.

Really don't get this whole Manning hatred thing. I am a huge LSU fan and hold no animosity to the Manning boys for not going there. They made their decisions on schools, Eli's b/c of his father (i guess) and it has worked out for everyone. They are NOLA boys and Archie has been a great spokesman for NOLA and the Saints. Some of you assholes need to get over yourselves and your stupidity. Next season I'm betting that Archie is pulling for the Saints and NOLA to do well just as he always has.

I can understand not having any love for the Manning boys, but the hate because so many of you feel slighted is beyond ridiculous. Do you realize how stupid this question you asked is? Eli's choice was between San Diego and New York, not New Orleans and New York. The Saints had the 18th pick in the draft that year and didn't have a shot at Eli if they had wanted them, which they wouldn't have because Haslett was in love with Brooks.

Even though Peyton left the field after the loss, I thought that he regained his composer and acted classy in his interview. His comment on the pick 6 was simply that Porter made a great play, even though it is obvious that his receiver didn't finish the route and allowed Porter to step in front of the pass.

It was definitely pretty weird that Peyton turned down the big opportunity to get coached up by Curley Hallman.
