I had heard through the grape vine about it. I saw a clip and it made me smile and I have no connection with the whole Comic Book genre. Well done
I loved the first IM and need to sneak away for a Daddy night from my baby son to go see this

I was a comic geek i'll admit it.So now that all these movies are coming up im like a kid again. When i was a kid i had all the x-men,iron man, hilk figures and all that so its pretty cool to see these movies finally take flight.

quote:Good...The first had a good story and was well put together, I didn't find the actual IronMan/Fight/Action scenes all that impressive though. Not sure why they thought it'd be cool to have the climactic battle at the end with a 5% powered up Iron Man suit.

If you liked the original Iron Man, there's no reason you won't like this one. The action sequences are better in 2, and the FX are first rate. The story's not as strong, but all the quips and one-liners are there. Robert Downey Jr. is of course still awesome as Tony Stark, and most of the supporting roles are good. I had a little problem with the way Sam Rockwell played his character...he was a little too annoying for me. Although, he did have one great scene where the character really worked. Scarlett Johannsen looked great kicking arse, love Don Cheadle in anything. Mickey Rourke's villain is better than Obadiah Stane in the original movie. I'm not digging on Samuel L. as Nick Fury, I think he's distracting...maybe it's the old school comic fan in me. It's a fun movie, and a great kick off to the summer movie season.
ETA: Favorite scene was the Monaco Indy Car race.

Yeah, they have about a one minute easter egg after the credits get done rolling.

I liked it, but I am tired of comic book movies that are simply saving money by having the villain be nothing more than a doppelganger of the hero.
Hulk vs Abomination
Spidey vs. Venom
Iron Man vs Bigger Iron Man
Iron Man 2 vs Iron Man and Little Iron Men and Whiplash Man
Decades of history, yet they feel the need to use Villains that are replicas of the Heroes.
I don't like it.
But overall, I did like the movie, even though Stark did come off as a bit of a douche in this one.

To be fair, those are probably the two most popular villains for those characters respectively.

Not the way they handled them. Well, actually abomination wasn't handled badly but Venom and evillllll tobey were weak.
