Would it help to release the dams upstate at the Alabama and Tombigbee Rivers to help push the water out from coming into the delta?

The state talked to the Corp about that, and they determined most likely not. Plus it would screw up navigation on the rivers, property owners on the rivers, and a lot of other shite. If the oil cruises on past all the major outlets of the Mississippi River right into Barrataria Bay, opening the dams on the Alabama River won't do shite, IMAO.

About a week ago the reports detailing the boom deployment in and around Mobile Bay said that booms would be deployed to protect Dog River, Fish River and possibly the Tensaw. Thinking at that time was that the flow rate of the Mobile would be strong enough to prevent oil intrusion into that part of the bay.
