Texas appears to be in a no win situation, now.

If they stay and keep the big XII together, it's looked upon as a weak conference and their legitimacy is tarnished.
If they go the Pac whatever and A&M go's to the s.e.c., their brand of football is in jeopardy. the aggies will have powers such as bama, florida, and lsu (three of the last four n.c.) coming to their home, while texas has zona, washington st, stanford. all teams the people of their state have nothing in common or interest in. U.S.C. will be down, so there go's the only glamor team. OU will be their only rival. Not a lot to offer their fans/people of their state.

TAMU should come to the SEC no matter what - just to destroy Texas.

So....you are positing that A&M will get some sort of advantage in losing at home to Bama, UF and LSU over the Horns while Texas beats USC, Oregon and Cal in Austin?
Wow.....
Wow.....

Try four of the last four -- Florida, LSU, Florida, and Alabama, in that order.

Possible Options :
1.Reorganize Big 12.
2. Independence
3. Join SEC
4. Join Big 10
5. Join Pac-10
6. Build new Texas-Notre Dame-centric super conference.
Some of these options are pretty bad.
But you could make the case that joining the Pac-10 is the worst option of all.

Our top 6 teams could beat Texas 6 days a week and 7 on Sunday. TAMU coming to the SEC (while hard at first) will in the long run position them better than Texas. If you pick the series up in 3 years after they have been in the SEC a while then they will own that Texas arse.
^This is what scares Texas the most.

This switching of conferences would be in tamu's advantage.
Yes, short term, they would lose to the good sec teams. However long term this likely will be a boon for recruiting. Kids from Texas I suspect will much prefer to play SEC teams than PAC 10 teams.
I think this would have UT concerned. I think it would be REALLY interesting if SEC added both UT and TAMU. Hell even add OU and OSU and go to a great 16 team superconference.
The TV money that conference would get would be staggering.

Get em Tool! Texas has many legitimate concerns about what is happening right now. There is no doubt.

it's about "interest". who cares about cal, stanford, zona, zona st, ok st, oregon st, oregon, wash st ect? especially in your state.
What you don't understand is your expected to beat those teams, if you don't, it's bad, if you do, so what?
what game in your state do you think people will watch as time go's on. Florida, lsu, au, bama, tenn, georgia, arkansas vs A&M or tx vs stanford, zona, zona st, ok st, oregon st, oregon, wash st ect. there are two games your state will be interested in, tx vs OU or usc. that's it.
even you can't get excited about that.

Thank goodness for the NCAA banishing you all and removing an "L" from our record. When will you all know whether or not you have to give back the trophy?
