Is this some hidden way of saying we need a playoff?

It's football, so it's better than anything else that'll be on TV, but exactly which game is intriguing? Maybe USM v USCe?

PITT and Utah will definitely be a good game.

Definitely has the potential.

Pitt vs Utah is a battle between 2 teams whom are almost certainly going to be bowl bound.

And there are so many storylines going on with USC (how will they look under Kiffin, Sanctions, etc) and having to start off the year against a Hawaii team that might be able to give them a little bit of a scare.

Be honest, you're trying to make a case that we need a playoff with this post, aren't you

You've got USC-Hawaii which will be interesting, Pitt-Utah (great matchup), USM vs USCe should be intriguing, and you have the eventual National Champ, all playing on the same night. Not a bad opener.

Quite the contrary. Was just pointing out that for the Opening Night of CFB on a Thursday, it has the potential to be an pretty entertaining set of games.

Dude, neither Minnesota nor Indiana is coming close to winning a national title.

I don't think there's anything definite about it. It should be a good game. But not one that means a whole lot outside of Utah and Pennsylvania.

Who gets better ratings, Verses or ESPN at the 7:30 slot

I was obviously referring to MTSU.

ESPN easily, mostly because a lot of people won't even know Versus has CFB on that night.

I'm thinking the casual fans will tune into ESPN, and the hardcore and fans of the actual teams playing will tune into Verses

How do the Ohio State fans feel about playing a home game on a Thursday night? I read that they haven't done that since 1997.

The Versus game will be the better game, but the ESPN one will get much better ratings, due to its availability, the hype, etc. Heck, I'll probably watch the ESPN over the Versus one (at least initially and when the OSU game is at commercials/halftime), just cause that feels like an actual football broadcast.
