not even sure who you are talking about.

Tanner Scott. Cubs offered him 4/$66M, Dodgers got him at 4/$72M.

Explain this to me like I'm dumb, because I am on the subject. Why should he and anyone be penalized for rejoining the PGA?

The PGA Tour has a rule that it's members can't play in events that occur at the same time as PGA Tour events without prior permission. It's sort of a non-compete for the independent contractor players and is meant to protect the Tour's events and sponsors since all players don't play in every event. LIV obviously occurs at the same time as PGA Tour events, so those players were suspended by the PGA Tour when they left.
If Arch gets beat out by a WR next year, that would be something.

The best shot is Belli who I'm luke warm on and in his case he'd be foolish to leave NY with that short right field porch made or his left handed stroke...if the Yanks give a decent bid that is.

Yankees offered Bellinger $30M AAV. Cubs aren't touching that for any length of time, and they probably shouldn't.

At some point the Cubs are going to have to spend again. They should be able to get Bichette for a little more than they paid Swanson. Something like 7yrs/$190M. I guess if the Phillies are really interested, he could get over $200M, but I wonder if that was Boras putting pressure on other teams to increase their offer.

They needed starting pitching desperately last year when they were making a run. They did nothing and sat on their hands at the break. This guy was available and could have been had then.

If he could have been had for Caissie and 2 lower level minor leaguers at the break last year, they would have pulled the trigger. The Marlins wanted Caissie plus Shaw or Wiggins. Cubs were right not to overpay then.

I share your frustrations with ownership and the front office though. Especially ownership for refusing to go into the tax with the gold mine that is sitting in Wrigleyville. Jed has made his share of mistakes as well. Hopefully they go add a bat in free agency and become the NL Central betting favorites. Personally, I want Bichette. I think he's an almost perfect fit for this Cubs team.
LSU will pay him $91M over the next 7 years. You think they really care about the extra $250K tonight?

does leave open the possibility of waiting for someone and getting left at the alter

We'll replace those players with someone from Georgia then.

His first FG miss under 45 yds all year.

He missed a chip shot against Bama, maybe under 30 yards.
Definitely post on a message board about it late on a Saturday night.

Zion’s contract is awful given how far he has fallen as a player. There is no market for him.

There's no way he can be on this roster next year for $40M.
quote:

Everyone assumed LSU was guaranteeing $25M in NIL from prior reporting

No one should have been. It was always reported as $25M-$30M total, including the $15M in revenue sharing.
UClub can't spell his name correctly either, huh?
When you name your source, you lose them. Deciphering the sources from the sauces is the best part of this board.

If LSU didnt already iron that out with kiffin they are dumber than even I believed.

They have ironed it out. Verge is willing to wait for Kiffin to finish this season.
quote:

if I’m Verge I give a deadline.

Verge already said he's willing to wait until the end of the playoff for the right coach.
quote:

maybe Sexton told both of those guys to go ahead and sign because Lane has made his decision to come to LSU.

Correct. Drink doesn't sign with Mizzou if he knows he's a candidate for LSU and the job is still open.
quote:

And that was the right call. Would it have made Kenzel’s night better to have people booing when he’s being honored?

I don't even think that was the reason why. BK's pending litigation against the University probably was the reason he was told not to come, if that's true.
quote:

The “free BK statement” was absurd. No one is holding him hostage

I think Kenzel is claiming that he wanted BK on the field for senior night and LSU wouldn't allow him to be there. That's probably what the "free BK" is referencing.
Add Nuss spinning into a sack and not targeting TreyDez in the redzone.

Ole Miss isn't going to let him coach the playoffs if he is going to UF.

This is the play Ole Miss needs to make after we take care of Florida Saturday.

The play is to let the best coach you've ever had take your team into the playoffs and try to win it. Not try to make someone look bad like a jaded ex-girlfriend.

Because winning teams make even more money.
