If you research hotels/B&Bs/etc with the correct spelling of "Napa" you may have better luck.

If you provide some details on what you'd like to do while you're here, and what your budget is, it would be easier to make suggestions.

I will be at the Napa River Inn this weekend for the first time. It came highly recommended. Do you know anything about it?

I don't know it. But I have to say, I think staying in the city of Napa is highly under rated. It's a lot cheaper, and there are a lot of really good restaurants in Napa.

We are staying in Napa 1 night, then moving to a house in Yountville. Eating Monday night at Bottega. Is it as good as advertised?

Where's the house? I'm renting a house in Yountville right now. I've eaten at Bottega twice this month and I really like it. Personally, I think Michael Chiarello is a douchenozzle, but the food is great, the service is top notch, and it's a nice room. I've had the green egg and ham, the wild nettles and chard raviolo (yes, that's the correct spelling), and the papardelle with bolognese, which was as good a bolognese as I've had.

In the Markham vineyard just past Dominus. (Not the Markham winery location, but in a Markham vineyard on the west side of Hwy 29 just past Dominus.)

A real prima donna huh?

I think I'll order this.

My wife and I only have one night in the region before we head to san fran. for her conference so i dont mind splurging. That being said, since it is only one night it is hard for to pay too much as i would rather put the money towards food/wine. I looked at L'Auberge de Soliel and that was way out of our priceline. We were also looking at the inn at Southbridge but something in walking distance to dinner would be key.

just stay somewhere that gets the job done: a nice clean place with a comfy bed.

like you said, you are there for the food & wine, not a 5 star hotel.

Then you should definitely stay in Yountville. It has the best concentration of good restaurants in the wine country and you can walk from one end of town to the other, no problem. Bouchon, Bistro Jeanty, Redd, Ad Hoc, French Laundry, Bardessono, Bottega, Cantinetta Piero are all fantastic. There are also probably a dozen lodging options here.

There's no doubt that you pay a premium to stay in Yountville itself. It's not cheap.

But if you're determined to be in Yountville, I'd go with the Bordeaux House. It's somewhere between a hotel and a B&B. Pretty cool. Some rooms have private patios which are nice to come back to with a bottle(s) of wine after dinner since there isn't much nightlife in that area.

The most affordable place in Yountville that I know of is the Napa Railway Inn. You basically stay in an old railway car. I haven't actually stayed there but I would definitely consider it if I was only there for a night.

There's also the Vintage Inn and the Yountville Inn. Stayed in both. Both very nice.

I think the Villagio Inn is at the highest end of the price range for that area.

No need to actually stay at Auberge du Soleil. You can go for an afternoon drink in between visiting wineries and dinner. Great view from up there.

My wife and I were in Napa in May. We stayed at the Bardessono in Yountville and Solage in Calistoga. Bardessono is very nice, but Solage is the best place I have ever stayed. It is amazing. We were sorry to leave. I also like Calistoga. It is more laid back than Yountville. Solage has an offer that includes breakfast and dinner with your room. If you do the math, it is a fair deal for what you get. Their restaurant, Solbar, has a Micheline star and its chef used to be the chef de cuisine at August.

Enjoy Napa. It is great.
