Thanks for the post. Just made a donation. Thought I would have seen a couple more of his teammates with high dollar contracts, Donovan, clint, etc., put up some bills ($1k or greater). Hopefully, they will.

Barcelona in Dallas ???

A couple months ago I read that Barcelona was going to play a Mexican team in august at Jerry's world. I haven't seen any new information on it. Any insight?

re: Beckham To Spurs?

Posted by major tiger on 1/3/11 at 12:03 pm to
I am a Spurs fan and this doesnt make sense. Bale is a master at free kicks, corners and beating people down the line. What will Beckham have to offer? I would rather have a forward that can actually finish one of the 10 or so perfectly placed balls Bale provides every match.
Dont feel bad about making the switch. I jump allegiances every year or so and have enjoyed the different experiences. I was a strong Fulham fan as they fought through regulation a couple years ago, I jumped on board Everton to watch Donovan tear up the EPL and this year i have picked Tottenham. Watching Garreth scream down the lines past whoever is on his side should make picking this team an easy decision.

Tolstoy could have written War and Peace in a 100 pages but he didnt. Dont knock a guy with a gift for prose.

Hats off to you, Chris, for another insightful article that is right on the money. I am pumped you are writing again for Tigerdroppings and hope all the idiots on this board will be able to comprehend and digest your posts.

re: Where did I go wrong? - Crawfish

Thanks for the insight.

I used a regular ziplock. Not sure if something happened to the bag - i let them thaw out in the fridge. I can eat about anything but i had to throw those away.

Where did I go wrong? - Crawfish

Posted by major tiger on 9/28/10 at 7:58 am
So I froze a couple pounds of crawfish from boils we had this past spring/summer. I unthawed some for an etoufee on Saturday. Ended up not cooking it on Saturday so the crawfish remained unfrozen in the refrigerator until I cooked again last night. The crawfish were terrible - smelled bad and did not taste much better.

Did I mess up from keeping them frozen to long ( several months) before using them or should i have gone ahead and cooked them immediately after unfreezing them on Saturday? I wouldnt have thought two days in the fridge would make a big difference. Anyone have any insight into what they do when they freeze their tails from a boil?
I am guessing some Haynesville Shale money would cover his buyout. There are enough people up here that are ready to see him go.

I am not one of em for what it is worth.
I have loved it as well but most people here would rather be Texas fans and have lost to UCLA.
He is a hundred times better than the TV announcers that i have to painfully listen to.
I always stop at Bergerons outside BR. I bring an ice chest and pick up boudin, sausage and stuffed cornish hens. There i get the fried boudin and some crawfish pistolettes for the drive into the Stadium
Im at a loss for words. I like the way your thinking.

If it is the same recipe from Pat Conroy's cookbook, it will be one of the best things you have eaten.

New Man U hater

Posted by major tiger on 8/12/10 at 8:39 pm
I have always cheered for Man U, except when they have played Fulham or Everton when those teams were stacked with US players. But after watching the "little Pea" score two goals in two games, i have realized that I will never be able to cheer for them again. Everytime he touches the ball it angers me that the US has never been been able to produce a player like him. He is going to be a thorn in the USMNT side for the next ten years.
Does anyone else have a new disdain for Man U after they signed Chicharito?

I went to expedia and they had a deal for the doubletree downtown at $140. It is 2 miles from Vandy. Pumped about the cookies.

Any notable US player transfers?

After a month of non-stop soccer. I took a couple week hiatus. Did I miss any notable US player transfers? Bradley/Altidore/Beasley/etc.

I am with you. Hoping to get the wife on board for that plan as well.

My wife and I only have one night in the region before we head to san fran. for her conference so i dont mind splurging. That being said, since it is only one night it is hard for to pay too much as i would rather put the money towards food/wine. I looked at L'Auberge de Soliel and that was way out of our priceline. We were also looking at the inn at Southbridge but something in walking distance to dinner would be key.

Does anybody have a good Paella recipe? Going to cook this on Sunday in honor of Spain's WC final.

Nappa Lodging

Any thoughts on where to stay in Nappa Valley Region?
I recommend not rushing and seeing how many different places you can go to. It looks like you have a great list of stops already planned. I would add Frogs Leap for a unique experience. Also, if you have never been, I would hit up one of the majors, such as Berringers for a different point of view.
I pick a team at the beginning of the season with US players on it and follow that team for the whole EPL season. And when i say follow, i mean i try to get as engrossed as possible, I check their message boards, follow games online and on TV, buy gear, etc.

I have done this with Fulham and more recently Everton and have really enjoyed it.
