JaMarcus Russell's pro career now hit with 'drank'-ing problem

You might have heard that Russell was arrested in Alabama for possession of a controlled substance — codeine syrup.
What makes it even more interesting is that there already is speculation that Russell was dabbling with something called "Purple Drank," which evidently is becoming popular among athletes.
It's a cocktail of alcohol, prescription-strength codeine cough syrup, the antihistamine promethazine (which has a sedative effect), a splash of Sprite or 7-Up for fizz and Jolly Rancher candies for ... actually, we have no idea what the Jolly Ranchers could possibly add, other than maybe a broken tooth.
At any rate, it could explain Russell's indifference to working out, not to mention his Stay-Puft-Marshmallow-Man girth.

Thanks.
I'll make sure to stay clear of any of Mr. Young's articles in the future.
Yikes.

Why would you stay away from his article? The truth hurt? JR is a grown man and if hes messing around with that stuff then whats the problem??

Because the article is all assumption. Has no idea what he's talking about. Maybe there was nothing better out there for him to write on.

So... If indeed this is true. All Russell would have to do is mix the said substance above that he was arrested for with some gin & juice and basically he got some "Purple Drank". I can't prove it but I'm sure he wasn't drinking the codeine syrup straight up.

Purp is usually just sprite and codeine/prometh
You can drink alcohol on it, but I don't know why you would

The Jolly Ranchers are for color and flavor. You pre-mix the drink so the Jolly Ranchers melt and you don't get a broken tooth. If you don't wait long enough for them to melt, they stick at the bottom of the cup anyway.

The truth hurts? Wha?
I would stay away because it is written by a moron. Did you read it?
I think we all know what JR was doing with the 'controlled substance'. And if this guy can't put 2 and 2 together to figure it out, or what the use of the Jolly Rancher is, then he's a moron...like JR.

JM is a multi-millionaire. He never has to play football again if he doesn't want to. He can sit around the house all day eating pizza and potato chips and washing it down with Mountain Dew....the point of this is, what he did is a non-issue. He wasn't dealing cocaine. He'll get a slap on the wrist, and go back to eating fried foods in his recliner.
