Recovering and still property of the Giants. Its going to be a while before anyone knows if he can play again or not.

If not NFL, good possibility of a MLB ace reliever.....?

You need legs for that.

Well if he can't play sports anymore, maybe LSU can help him go back to school and get his degree.

Makes that 50st round pick by the Brewers look that much better. I was telling a friend during the draft that it was a good pick because you never know what kind of early career injury a football player might have.

To pitch, he needs his left leg to push on. You need strength, flexability, and balance, etc

Who knows if he regains all of that. IMHO NO WAY next year. Not even close. I sure hope and pray I am totally wrong!

Giants released him, he is pretty much a free agent right now.

Maybe his brother can give him some money.

Oh wait... he got cut, too.

way to kick the Jones family while they're down.

anyway, on his being waived

quote:

The move was done with the intention of placing Jones on the reserve/non-football injury list if he clears waivers.
Jones will be officially done for the season once he lands on the reserve/NFI list.

Also, the Giants will be under no obligation to pay him anything, though they will probably take care of him in some form or fashion.

but he still gets his 850k signing bonus

He didn't get released. The Giants still hold the rights to him as a player. He is waived and on the injured list, not released.

It'll be a hell of a comeback story if he can play next year or hell with the possible lockout, he could get 2yrs to recover.
