Whichever one that you can put in a 3" ring at 15ft, 90% of the time.

either one will kill someone so imo it doesn't matter. I just don't like handguns.

Depends.

I like the 9mm in my truck because I can stack 16 rounds in my magazine.

If its going in a nightstand or under a matress I'd prefer the .45.

Shot placement > the "stopping power" myth.

If you plan on going to the range a lot, the 9mm is the way to go. Cheaper ammo.

To just shoot around, 9mm.

To take a mothafricka down, .45.

+1.....50 Cent shot 9 times with a 9mm....If they used a .45?

Where, on his person, was he shot? What kind of bullet was used? Etc. etc.

Yes. You can shoot someone 9 times with a .45 and they can live, if you don't hit vitals, and you are using less than optimal bullets.

On the other hand, if just ONE of those nine 9mm bullets had hit 50cent's heart, brain, or major artery, he'd be dead.

Shoot what you like, but anyone under the impression that switching calibers is going to be like waving a magic wand of death, is mistaken.

No one is arguing that placement isn't important. You do have to be able to shoot the thing to begin with for any of it to matter.

The argument is say that is not a factor and you shoot well no matter what you use. If that is the case you want the round with more take down power.

This is the same reason that a lot of paramilitary groups have stopped using 5.56 in assault rifles and switched to the new 6.8.

50 cent was all kinds of shot up, think largely throughout abdomen, though, per his scars he shows off all the time. I'd have to figure, though, the shooter didn't really invest in the best of "stopping power" rounds like the various hollows and others. That and 50 came out just ridiculously lucky, or the shooter ridiculously unlucky, however you may see it personally.

I like 9mm in most situations because.
1.More rounds means more options.
2.Less recoil, my wife can handle it.
3.I am very accurate with it.
4.in 99.9% of all altercations, it is very adequate.
5.it is cheaper to buy and shoot, so that means more practice and fun.
6.With todays high quality rounds, who is not to say it is not every bit as effective as a 45 in many, most or all situations.

Saying all that, If i knew i was going to a gun fight and was preparing for it. I would problably take a .10mm>>>>

Mindful of the opposing arguments, .45. But that's not dismissing the 9mm at all or praising the .45 as an absolute.
