I've heard from several people that this same kid was kicked out of Bluff Middle School last year for bringing a pistol to school.
Yes, but didn’t bring it to school. Made posts on social media brandishing guns and making threats.
I’d ask “where are the parents and why would they let him still have access to guns?”, but there’s no point.

Great pics as always!

Probably the reason everyone wears cowboy hats and listens to country music all of a sudden. COVID made people go outside and being outdoorsy became the in thing.
I pay on the 5th (16th - end of month work days) and 20th (1st - 15th work days).

re: Ascension Parish councilman sued over scandalous social media post

Some college aged gal made a post on FB advertising babysitting services. Councilman posted “do you have to have a kid?” Or some similar comment.
The Ascension Parish Political Rumors FB page screenshotted it and called him out. It’s a pretty wild page with wild accusations and some unfounded rumors. No one knows who runs the page.
The Councilman outed (accused) the owner of the page as Ruth, who is the parish presidents assistant (or similar role) and then accused her husband of exposing himself to the councilman and his ex gf.
I don’t know any of these people but have watched it play out the last few days on FB

NILSU (LSU's Name, Image, & Likeness program) launched with a prominent Times Square billboard in 2021 to mark the new era of college athletics, featuring LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne, symbolizing the program's visibility and commitment to athlete branding, a landmark move that set a standard for NIL activations in college sports. The billboard showcased LSU athletes and their growing endorsement deals, establishing NILSU as a leader in athlete empowerment and marketing, even leading to a documentary about their efforts.
Key Details:
Launch: The initial Times Square billboard for NILSU went up on July 1, 2021.
Featured Athlete: LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne was prominently featured, highlighting her endorsements and the potential of NIL.
Significance: It was a major statement, signaling LSU's dedication to capitalizing on Name, Image, & Likeness opportunities, making a big splash in the evolving landscape of college sports.
Ongoing Impact: The initial billboard was part of a broader strategy, leading to more NIL deals, educational programs, and even an Emmy-nominated documentary on Amazon Prime called "The Money Game".
In essence, the NILSU billboard in Times Square was a historic, attention-grabbing event that kicked off LSU's successful NIL journey, demonstrating a commitment to athlete branding and marketing.

Yeah it’s extra thick this year and the ash was as bad as I’ve ever seen it the day after Christmas.

Ascension Parish Residents
I have traveled this entire Parish today from Donaldsonville, to Gesimar, to Prairieville, Gonzales, Galvez, St. Amant and Darrow.
This entire Parish is full of smoke no matter where you go.
We are not working any fire calls.
The only thing that I can come up with is they have to be burning sugar cane.
That usually happens every year about this time.
Please share this message to ease any minds of why this Parish is full of smoke. Fire Chief James E. LeBlanc 01/05/2026
Sugar cane fields burning across the river and in Convent.

Agree with every point in your post. Especially this part…
I have 3 degrees and a dozen or so professional licenses, but when I get on these sites for states out west and they start talking about units and priority points and draws and raffles and special licenses, I log out and give up.
What I don’t understand is as fast as participation rates are dropping, bitching about out of state hunters on public land is rising.

Downtown Dutchtown got covered in it Friday afternoon. Never seen it that thick.
I think I’ve sold everything I ever posted on marketplace in under a week. You gotta ignore the 3000 “is this still available messages?” And the lowballs. If they’re serious, they’ll circle back with an actual message.
Tractors, trucks, boats, furniture, trailers, lawnmowers, etc. I think it’s great.

This is 100% on the greased palmed politcians. Did yall hear about how they were supposed to limit it to 1 miles and then the new gov got elected and it quickly changed to 1/2 mile?
Who made this decision? Politicians? WLF? A commission? Someone needs to be accountable to answer the question as to “why”?
If it’s the commission, then who appointed them? Are they getting paid or is the politician that appointed them getting paid?
That’s where my breakdown in understanding is. If the people of Louisiana (the sportsman at least) are so against this, and have gobs of evidence against it, then why would the boundary get changed? Who can answer that question for the people?

Yeah I’d write a check right now if you could get that right for $14k. I’ll believe it when I see it
There’s a pile of them standing on Burnside blowing whistles and waving Mexican flags.
They pulled someone out of the Ideal market on 30 a couple days ago. I’m sure 30 or so fat blue-haired lesbians will go blow some whistles about it.
$500k/$500k/$100k and a $4mm umbrella

Part 1 - Guides viewpoint
Part 2 - Pogie Industry viewpoint
Lake Pickle of the Meateater/Bear Grease Network did a podcast/videocast about the issue. It was pretty good, informative, and showed both sides. Our politicians have still failed us by siding with the pogie industry, but I did appreciate hearing their viewpoint. It’s on Spotify/apple as well as YouTube.
