The problem is the coach not the players

LSU has top of the line talent - it's just uncoached/undeveloped. Therefore I think criticism of the players isn't warranted. Miles and crew don't develope their talent and then put them in bad situations, misuse/underuse their specific talents. We suffer from a coaching problem not a player problem.

The coaches didn't fumble, they did put them in position at the 12 yard line, and in position with a first down with less than a minute or so left however.

Okay, but...
Was it coaching that caused the fumbles, running into the kicker, bad calls by refs, blown assignments by personnel?
I agree that the coaching has to shoulder some of the blame, bit the players have some weight to carry as well...

How about we ask the NCAA to allow trhe coach to be in the huddle for every play like they do in pee wee football. Then maybe he can tell guys that have been playing football for their whole lives what to do and not do right before each snap. Maybe he can hold their hands while they are running the ball too. Players need to be held accountable just as coaches do.

I could not agree more.
Root cause analysis - was it the players who decided to "try to shorten the game and get out of here"? Is it the players that call the short side option or still evidently don't understand clock management? Is it the players who make millions per year at LSU?
The coaches are the professionals in this equation. Its their job to get the kids ready to play and to come up with a game plan that will work and the kids can execute.

Penelties, lack of concentration, fumbles etc. must all lay at the ultimate blame of HC & staff, especially reoccuring for several years now?

We have had a recurring problem with fumbles???? Since when? Yes, the coaching staff is the ultimate scapegoat, but the players are just as responsible for penalties, fumbles and lack of concentration. All of those things are mental mistakes and with young guys on the field, it will happen and ahppen more than once.

52-15, that should be enough said but the idiots on TD will never realize this. So let me get this straight, it was coaching that caused the fumbles
it was coaching the reason that we have a second rate QB

It's a team effort.Problems in UNC game lies with players and coaches.Once again, problems are fixable. Question is will they fix them.

We weren't THAT efficient in the first half. We should have been up by even more. The offense still sputters for no reason sometimes. I want to see consistent play from the offensive line and the QB. If you noticed, we still had very few offensive plays. Yes the return game was part of that, but 0 points in the second half is unacceptable.

We hadn't beat florida, bama, or even ole miss in two years. Top 10 recruiting every year. It's the coach's job to have players in the right places at the right time. Blown coverage happens because the players don't know what to do. It's up to coaches for them to know what to do. If they don't get it, put someone else in the game. Our coaches suck.

Speaks to an undisciplined team. SEE: Coach Les Miles.

No, it was the coaches who tried to shorten the game. With a twenty point lead, I think every coach in the country would laugh at you for criticizing that decision. Not to mention, LSU would have hung up another 14 pts and probably given only another seven on defense (defense wouldnt have been on the field for 2 quarters straight) if the players respected the coaches decision to milk the clock and not try to impress the scouts (or maybe they just wanted to make plays.
This "short side" option thing is hilarious. Please stop it. The side in which the option is ran to usually depends on defensive alignment more so than which side of the field has "more room to pitch the ball." Not to mention, it was JJ's attempt to juke before pitching the ball (which is fundamentally unsound in running the option) that messed up the pitch relationship between him and RS. It was a mistake, made by a 20 year old kid, or maybe he didn't want to take a hit, but i think he was just trying to do too much. Quit quoting other idiots on this board and go read about football from an expert or actually watch the games and listen to commentators instead of getting waisted with your friends and then comming on this board repeating bs you heard from other drunken "fans."
Aparently its you that doesn't understand clock management bashing on LSU for trying to "shorten" the game, which is what you do when you have the lead, with a schedule strength that promises a BCS NCG birth just for winning out.
With all that said, I give props to the DBs for listening to Chavis and not jumping those short routes that UNC kept hitting. Time was on their side and it ended up resulting in their victory.

No development in 2 years - coaching.

The coaches called the plays instead of kneeling it. The coaches also called the def plays the last minute of the game. The coaches also had 3 timeouts left in which during that time they could have uesed one to settled the D down, gave P. Peterson some rest etc. etc. etc.
Bottom line is the coaches didn't have a "great" game plan, especially in the 2nd half.

Wait. You wanted Les Miles to call a timeout during the last minute of the game? When UNC had no timeouts? Really?
