So can't just blame the portal
Sure we can.
Some of these guys were not expected to be contributors this year are now being pushed into the lineup.
That is 100% due to the portal misses.

Does the poster with the handle “sixthandbarone” on the website Tigerdroppings provide many helpful comments in the food and drink board of tigerdroppings?
this the most pathetic thing I have ever seen on this board

It will be worse next year.
I bet it won’t.

That doesn't mean it's perfectly fine & acceptable for that to happen at LSU.
Nobody argues this.

I've been buying Fishwife in hot peppers for awhile. They make a great lunch in the woods.

the bottom level TOPs requirements are insanely low IMO
I realize that it doesn't pay out that much, but a 2.5 GPA and 20 ACT score is not hard in HS

how do you not list Charleston?
There is another bill aiming to address TOPs that I like a better, in which it converts the first year of TOPS into a loan, and it will be only be forgiven if you graduate in 5 years
for the bill in the OP, one of the exemptions is drug addiction, which seems like an insane exemption

re: Transfer Portal Killing Baseball & Softball

LSU doesn't win 2 NCs without the transfer portal
I'll be researching this extensively next year as we are moving to 30 acres, with roughly 5 acres being maintained.
I really don't want to maintain 5 acres, so I would love to plant native wildflowers and other lawn plants for the vast majority of this area
I'll probably still maintain the area immediately around the house, but the rest I really want to be low maintenance while still looking nice

What happens if you lose TOPS for something out of the ordinary like a family member dying? Or if you sustain a serious injury and are forced to take less than the minimum required credits for TOPS(something that happened to someone I know)?
this is one of the exemptions listed
but you are right, with all the exemptions, people will file for these exemptions and challenges and clog the system
just raise the standards
this shouldn't be that complicated
I feel like you are overreacting to the reaction

Already happening for the VAST majority that accept TOPS.
Do you have data on this?
In 2022, 75% of LA college students stayed in state after graduation.

It was an example of tuition payment.
I'm aware. But one is a reward for achievement.

But yes there are scholarships you have to repay if you don't maintain performance.
I don't deny that they exist. But I don't believe they are very common.

Check your employer's tuition reimbursement plan.
That isn't a scholarship that was rewarded to someone

Lots of scholarships tied to ongoing academic performance.
Lots of scholarships where you have pay back the money if you fail to meet the ongoing qualifications? It's been 20 years since I was in college, but I never heard of a scholarship like that.
