Things that were nice to see

Our dline is much improved especially the ends.
4 sacks against their #1 oline. DE pretty solid with run containment which was a big weakness last year. At least Adams holds down the run game as opposed to Alem last year.
OLine much improved, only gave up 1 sack, obviously skewed with suspensions.
Liked the newcomers that played, they will only get better. Would like to see Ware and Ford in mix because I think the run game could be a lot better. Ridley is a complementary back.

I agree with your comments. There was much less confusion on Offensive alignments and play calls. I do not recall any penality for delay of game or taking timeouts because they could not get calls in.

Very true.

I agree, was there any delay of game calls? I dont recall any time outs needing to be called either.

agreed on all points

While JJ is clearly still a work in progress he showed obvious improvement

I think this and some of the other improvements (the o-line and d-line play especially) are some of the reasons why I am a little more optimistic today. The problems that we had seemed to be things that are fixable. Now lets see how we look against vandy.

actually showing up in top 10 national rankings for sacks is nice. Montgomery is strong for his size and will get real good with time.

Big Pep was a force in the middle though he didn't have any huge plays..
Montgomery, Brockers, Mingo, and Adams are all VERY welcomed newcomers to the line! All played great saturday and will be forces to be reckoned with
Downs played great, sacked Yates

DL has a nice little rotation at all positions which will pay dividends down the line

This was huge, especially given the hiccups that normally happen in any team's first game. I was very impressed with this aspect. They were getting to the line with 20+ seconds left on the play clock.
And it was encouraging to see that we had no problems with the snap, unlike our brethren in Gainesville.

WHY DO WE STILL LOOK SO BAD WHEN ATTEMPTING THE OPTION? YOU KNOW ITS GOING TO BE BAD IMMEDIATELY!

And not giving up any sacks. That was great that no sacks were given up with JJ decision making getting better. He only made 2 plays that were questionable, the INT that he was trying to get out of bounds and the grounding call.

Either blitzing or fake blitz on nearly every 3rd and long.

I actually thought the option didnt look that bad. JJ actually kept the ball and picked up good yardage on those that he kept. He did make a bad read on one option where he handed it to Ridley when he should have kept it, but other than that it didnt look too bad.
