Looking at both of these games, it is quite strange how similar they both were.

Total Points Scored by LSU:
@ UW = 31
@ UNC = 30

Non-offensive Points:
@ UW = 7
@ UNC = 9

Big play TDs on offense:
@ UW = 2 (Both Toliver TDs are of 35+ yards)
@ UNC = 2 (RS TD and RR TD both of 50+ yards)

Total plays for opponents:
@ UW = 83
@ UNC = 79

Total plays for LSU:
@ UW = 48
@ UNC = 57

Total LSU yards:
@ UW = 321
@ UNC = 313

Total opponents yards:
@ UW = 478
@ UNC = 436

Just some odd similarities. We actually had better YPC that game than this past one also despite out longest run in that game being 21 yards compared to getting a 50 yard run from Shepard. In the end, Ridley had less YPC than both Scott and Williams had in that game as well.

I think he'll be a good one, but I think people are overstating his performance just a tad.

This fact wasn't lost on me, either.

But, I wasn't up for the research or discussion.

Carry on.

What was the score against Washington with 10 minutes to go? Also, our total amount of rushing yards was close to 200.

that's because LSU has not improved/developed from a year ago.

I call bullshite you liar. You dont believe this at all. All someone has to do is read your post history and they can see how full of shite you are.

Your statement yesterday was "Ridley fumbled simply because he's an idiot"

Score was 24-13 going into the 4th quarter, so a double digit lead, but I am not saying they played out identically, just that the stats were similar.

Umm.. WRONG. We had 149 yards rushing against UW. It's the stats genius. We had more against UNC (162), but had more rushes.

You're missing something. LSU never dominated in the UW game like we did against UNC.

How many backups and freshmen did we play in the UW game?

End results close but two completely different paths. LSU struggled from the jump against the Huskies and secured the game late. They dominated the stats against UNC and had to hold on for dear life. Washington being a true road game probably had the Tigers a bit behind the 8 ball as well. Between the turnovers, missed FG, blown coverages and lame officiating it's amazing LSU still won that game. Depleted roster notwithstanding, UNC still has a pretty good team.

This I agree with. However that scares me more that we were UP by so much on UNC and let them back in the game. There is a problem. Can't pinpoint it, but there is a definent problem.

But for the 5 to 1 T/O margin between the games.

Maybe you don't have enough "want" to pinpoint the problem....

I'm sorry.

I thought I remembered us trailing to both at the end of the first quarter.

I seem to remember UNC having to be held to a FG inside of our 5 tied 7-7.

If you'd like to point out another difference, one was in a dome in the state of Georgia, and the other was outdoors in the state of Washington.

Just get ready to sweat a ton of games this year, except Florida and Alabama.

You won't have to sweat those.

They don't seem to have that will to put people away. Kind of idiotic to think they don't need to score anymore than a 20 point lead. This is 2010 not 1980. Teams can score 28 in one quarter with ease these days!
