After reading books 1-3 in the hospital, i'm actually torn. tara doesnt really exist in the books, which is a good thing cause she is annoying as hell. sam is kinda a nobody in the first 3 books as well. its mainly sookie, eric and bill. the books operate along the lines of the series in a sense, but so much more happens, same names do different things etc, but i feel the series is the overall better because of its portrayal of the love triangle and its introduction and keeping of certain characters that really get no play in the book but are totally enthralling in the series.

Haven't read the books, but the show needs to get back to focusing just on these 3. The supporting characters' storylines were just awful last season.

I stopped after book 4. I just couldn't take the grade school level romantic writing. Harris may be decent enough coming up with plot, but she isn't a very good writer.

I do miss Elvis in the show.

Bubba in the show would be the bomb. ROFLMAO.

I hated how little info they gave on Godric in the books, he was such a minor character, in fact i dont even recall them mentioning that he is Erics creator. The whole story line behind Eric and Russel that made season 3 so great isn't in the books, and in the books Franklin is a little bitch. I am deffintitely liking the series more, just less of tara please.
