Haven't seen this movie in a while but loved it as a kid. I will say that some of the characters freaked me out a little bit especially the Chilly Down monsters.
It had a lot of great cheesy songs in it. David Bowie was great and of course Jennifer Connelly

One of those movies I could watch anytime, anywhere. Love this movie.

The only reason I gave this a chance.
Unfortunately, I missed out on this one as a child so there's no magic in it for me. I saw it when I was 22 and hated it.

I'm seriously considering renting this sometime this weekend. I haven't seen it in a few years and this thread reminded me of its awesomeness.

The Princess Bride thread (another awesome movie) made me think of this movie. I wish it came on TV as much as PB.
Sir Didymus: "Can I interest anyone in a game of Scrabble?"
Houston, I love that song you linked. check out the theme song "Underground" on youtube. Another good song. "And remember fair maiden, should you need us........"

I wish they would remake this movie. I watched it a few weeks ago and still enjoyed it.

I don't think a remake would do justice to the original.

Exactly!! Don't tarnish my childhood memory of this wonderful movie.
Could you imagine who they would cast as Bowie's character?
