I had to google who tf Emma Hayes was and she is in the top 10.

Apparently she has been the Women's National Soccer Team coach for like 18 months, but that is top 10 material.

2019 LSU is the new 2001 Miami who was the new 1995 Nebraska. The team that great teams are compared to. I'm OK with that.

Brady was fired after 7 SEC games his last year here. Hopefully we can get McMahon to hit the McRoad soon.
literally lost to the worst Kentucky team in a generation (not counting Covid). I think this might be the worst Kentucky team since pre-Pitino.

The best Times Picayune headline was after the Rams game

The San Francisco game and the Rams game hurt 10000000x more than the Meaningless Miracle.

That 2017 team was so depleted on the lines that we probably would have gotten blown out by the Eagles just like the Vikings were.

But the 2018 and 2011 teams were absolutely better than the 2011 and 2018 Pats. That is two rings we lost. I don't think there is a chance in hell that the 2011 squad would have lost to the Giants in the dome.
oops, they should've been on 18, must've missed them when I was typing out the post
I ain't gonna do the work for every team. I just wanted to do it to see the Saints. I really was really just curious to see if the 2025 class was already better than 2018 but was a little surprised it wasn't so decided to look at a few more.

The numbers are just the accumulative Approximate value for all players in the draft class but only their contributions to the Saints.
Saints drafts by Value to Team since Loomis became GM in 2002 (draft rounds in parentheses):

2002: 111 (1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7)
2003: 71 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
2004: 110 (1, 2, 2, 5, 5, 7)
2005: 60 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
2006: 306 (1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7)
2007: 75 (1, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 7)
2008: 93 (1, 2, 5, 5, 6, 7)
2009: 56 (1, 4, 4, 5)
2010: 71 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7)
2011: 164 (1, 1, 3, 3, 7, 7)
2012: 26 (3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
2013: 92 (1, 3, 3, 5, 6)
2014: 22 (1, 2, 4, 5, 5, 6)
2015: 103 (1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 5, 5, 5, 7)
2016: 118 (1, 2, 2, 4, 7)
2017: 226 (1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 6)
2018: 37 (1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7)
2019: 52 (2, 4, 6, 7, 7)
2020: 44 (1, 3, 3, 7)
2021: 61 (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7)
2022: 63 (1, 1, 2, 5, 6)
2023: 34 (1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6)
2024: 32 (1, 2, 5, 5, 5, 6, 7)
2025: 26 (1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 6, 7, 7)

A few thing I note from this:
-2025 class already being ahead of one class and tied with another is pretty funny.
-That 2018 class hurt so damn bad.
-We haven't had a pick in all 7 rounds since 2005.
is ESPN still trying to justify QBR as a stat?

Patriots and Niners having more than the Bengals wasn't exactly what I expected.

Marvin Lewis coached for 16 years without winning a single playoff game so that helps.

They also have 3 coaches who coached over 5 years with a losing record:
Paul Brown - 55-56-1
Sam Wyche - 61-66
Zac Taylor - 52-63-1

Since 1969, NFL teams have had this many coaches:

3 coaches - Steelers and Ravens (est 1996)
8 coaches - Texans (est 2002) and Seahawks (est 1976)
9 coaches - Vikings
10 coaches - Cowboys, Bengals, Jaguars (est 1994), and Panthers (est 1994)
11 coaches - Packers
13 coaches - Bucs (est 1976) and Chiefs
14 coaches - Bears and Eagles
15 coaches - 49ers, Rams, Giants, Dolphins, and Patriots
16 coaches - Commanders and Broncos
17 coaches - Falcons and Titans
18 coaches - Lions, Cardinals, and Bills
19 coaches - Saints, Chargers, and Raiders
20 coaches - Colts and Jets
21 coaches - Browns

I included interim coaches as well just to make the Steelers run that much more impressive.

Last 5 guards drafted in the top 10:

2017 - Quentin Nelson (8th overall) - 8x pro bowl, 3x all-pro

2015 - Brandon Scherff (5th overall) - 5x pro bowl, 1x all-pro

2013 - Jonathan Cooper (7th overall) - lol

2013 - Chance Warmack (10th overall) - lol

1997 - Chris Naeole (10th overall) - meh

The 2013 class produced the only 2 real busts at the position but that whole draft a was a bust. Naeole got hurt pretty badly his rookie year and never lived up to his potential but was still a solid starter but definitely not top 10 worthy.
Tomlin to Ravens, Harbaugh to Steelers
Zac Taylor literally the last one standing in that division...

who the frick saw that one coming?
Stats for this game so far:

Total Yards:
Texans 408
Steelers 149

Passing Yards:
Texans 244
Steelers 105

Rushing Yards:
Texans 164
Steelers 44

Yards per Play:
Texans 6.2
Steelers 3.2

Turnovers:
Texans 3
Steelers 1

3rd downs:
Texans 10/15
Steelers 2/13
can't believe Sheldon Rankins and John Jenkins are both still in the league.

No Matt Millen mentioned? How times have changed.

He was literally mentioned in the first post.. :dunno:

If Al Davis counts, then probably him. He was probably the only guy worse at drafting this century than Millen.

Raiders first round picks from 2000 - 2011 (the year Davis died)
K Sebastian Janikowski
CB Derek Gibson
LB Napoleon Harris
CB Nnamdi Asomugha
DE Tyler Brayton
OT Robert Gallery
CB Fabian Washington
DB Micahel Huff
QB Jamarcus Russell
RB Darren McFadden
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey
LB Rolando McClain
(Traded first for Richard Seymour)

Detroit first round picks 2001-2007 (Matt Millen years)
OT Jeff Backus
QB Joey Harrington
WR Charles Rogers
WR Roy Williams
RB Kevin Jones
WR Mike Williams
LB Ernie Sims
WR Calvin Johnson

definitely a few hits, but overall, they were dreadful considering where they picked every year.
