Haven't seen this movie in a while but loved it as a kid. I will say that some of the characters freaked me out a little bit especially the Chilly Down monsters.

It had a lot of great cheesy songs in it. David Bowie was great and of course Jennifer Connelly

Jennifer Connelly

The only reason I gave this a chance.

Unfortunately, I missed out on this one as a child so there's no magic in it for me. I saw it when I was 22 and hated it.

LOVED this movie as a kid.

I wanted the MC Esher-esque staircase.

I'm seriously considering renting this sometime this weekend. I haven't seen it in a few years and this thread reminded me of its awesomeness.

The Princess Bride thread (another awesome movie) made me think of this movie. I wish it came on TV as much as PB. Sir Didymus: "Can I interest anyone in a game of Scrabble?" Houston, I love that song you linked. check out the theme song "Underground" on youtube. Another good song. "And remember fair maiden, should you need us........"

"You remind me of the babe" What babe? The babe with the power. What power? The power of voodoo. Who? You do. You remind me of the babe.

I wish they would remake this movie. I watched it a few weeks ago and still enjoyed it.

I don't think a remake would do justice to the original.

Exactly!! Don't tarnish my childhood memory of this wonderful movie.

Could you imagine who they would cast as Bowie's character?

Terrific movie.
