Basically PP7 half assed the tackle and fell into the endzone with Cam

what Toliver did was dragging, cam was a normal tackle on a guy thats 6'5 and going full speed unless he got horse collared

I can see the argument where you could say he was dragged into the endzone, but any 6'5" 250 QB going full speed ahead at 20 miles an hour is going to drag even the best tackler with him alittle ways.

actually Danielson tried to make it like Newton was accelerating past PP. PP kinda hesitated to make sure CN didnt cut behind him and then grabbed him around the 5 yd line. Cam powered in but both of their momentum was going toward endzone.

BS....not dragged, just got there too late to keep him out. Auburn friend should be bragging about all the other Tigers that whiffed.

At the agle PP was on there was not going to be a drop him on the spot tackle. Their momentum carried them in.

yeah cant beleive he didnt defy the laws of physics and stop 6'6" 260lb Cam Newton dead in his tracks.

the ESPN article said he rode Cam in, but the momentum carried them in. He didn't take anymore steps when PP hit him.

Honestly, I think there was running over and then dragging. Not Petersen's best moment, but shite like that happens. Deion Sanders never could tackle anybody. We have to remember that Petersen is a corner afterall.

Only reason newton score was bc he was on the 4 when pat grab him. Great run by newton but he definitely didn't drag pat

OK, whatever. Look, I'm a Petersen fan. Contact was initiated BEFORE the 5 yard line and Cam got in the endzone. I'm not calling Peterson out. That was a really tough play to make. I didn't say he got trucked, but let's be honest, Cam carried him for at least 5 yards.

carried? Peterson whiffed on initial contact and then regained when he wrapped cam around the waist. From that part Cam took 1 step

PP7 was coming from the side.

Cam was going nearly straight ahead.

Cam's momentum went toward the end zone, he reached and got the ball in, just before he lost control of the ball.

He wrapped him up around the 5, and Newton started to fall. But when Newton just falls forward he gets at least 5 yards- saw this all game.

Why would anybody expect someone to be able to tackle a guy going full speed from the side/behind. Not to mention the guy was a good bit bigger.

The whole idea is idiocy.

Petersen had the angle, but he misjudged Newton's speed. Once Newton's burst put him past Petersen, Patrick had to hook him at about the 7 yard line. Newton was strong enough to withstand Petersen's initial contact at the 7 (and Petersen did not whiff, BTW) and then successfully drag Petersen into the end zone. Did you watch the link? It's all there. Newton just had an extra gear that Petersen wasn't ready for. It happens among elite players. Petersen is a future first round draft pick.

You know your cornerback is a bad arse when someone makes a point of him getting dragged into the end zone by a Shaquille O'Neal with wheels.

He's a corner and corners are not hitters.
