At the beginning of the season, a lot of people said that we could be a much better team than last year and still finish 9-3 or 8-4 because of the tougher schedule. Some were saying we'd go 7-5 or even 5-7. What do you say now?

Are we better of worse, overall, than last year?

How will that affect our record, considering we are currently 7-1 with 2 very tough games remaining - maybe 3 depending on how Ole Miss plays.

We're better. But the potential for meltdown is enormous.

Overall?

we're about the same. the improvements on defense have been averaged out by the regression on offense....and I can't believe I could say that.

Yeah I'd say better but if we lose to Alabama then the season could fall apart and I'll be so pissed.

Definitely better.

Would be shocked if we finished worse than 10-2.

We are better across the O-line(though we didn't look like it this week). I really think the differences we see are due to the SEC being really down, this year. When we decide to attack on D, the D is better, and losing Sam really hurt against AU. We need bigger lines when we get into SEC crunch time.

Better, hoping for 10 win season. A 9 win regular season is a minimum. No way we lose to Alabama, Arky, and Ole Miss. I think we beat Ole Miss, ULM and split Ark/Alabama a loss to one of them. Would be a good season, no thanks to the coaching.

We are in a better position to finish with 10+ wins but a catastrophe is not far fetched, but I don't think the catastrophe will actually happen.

The most frustrating thing is we should still be undefeated...DAMMIT!

I would hope that it is ludicrous to contemplate going 7-5. However, the collapses in the past couple of years have been epic. Beating UL-M, only, in the regular season would mean we are playing for our 9th win in the bowl. We played for and won our 8th game in the bowl in 2008. Last year, the bowl would have been a 10th win (though most would not have been satisfied).

It all hinges on Bama, as others have said. Should we lose (and we will be underdogs) that probably sets the stage for a 2-2 finish, 9 wins with a chance for a 10th win in the bowl game.

Is the 2010 LSU football team better than 2009? On defense and special teams, I have to say yes. On offense, I cannot say that. It may not be worse, but it is hard to argue it is any better. The OL has played better, overall, this year and QB play seems to have deteriorated.

The want is there to say we should have won that game but lets get real here. We got our arse handed to us. No shame in that. They were better than us. It happens.

We have had a better running game this year by far. I still think our pass 0 had gone backwards, which I didn't think was possible.
