The Lady Tigers basketball team recieved a letter of intent from top 5 recruit Krystal Forthan today. This is the highest ranked recruit in the last four seasons for coach Chancellor. Here's more on Forthan........

I saw that Denmark's Anne Pedersen of The Rock High School in Gainesville, FL committed a couple of weeks ago. Since she has never played HS ball in the US, none of the rating sites even mention her, although she did play some club ball over the summer. I did some research and she appeared to be the clear leader of the Denmark U18 National Team, but they weren't very good.
She's a 6'1" wing/guard and looks to be the potential scoring leader of The Rock. Their website says that their seniors will be signing their LOIs at a school ceremony at 2:15 EST.
Here is the link to the school, showing the post of her commit on 10/20 and the post about the ceremony:

It would be nice if she turned out to be like a Svetlana Abrosimova or even Katrina Hibbert---we need some serious perimeter help next year AND, as of her signing, will only have 5 backcourt players for 2011--you can do that in the frontcourt if a couple are really good...but not in the back. We will have one true PG in Hughes, which will force Kenney to play point, leaving Lutley, Webb, and Pedersen as our "shooters" This spells trouble...from what I can tell, there are still several quality PGs out there in HS without going JC route. One advantage to that is it would increase the size of the 2013 class from 2, giving us more schollies, without having to be careful, saving spots for the next 2 years of recruiting.
Bottom line is we need a PG or really good combo guard... shame we lost Asia Boyd to Kansas. (Kansas? jeez, why?--big fish in small pond?)
sorry my "rant" went on so long...I am so thrilled about the Forthan signing that I can hardly wait till NEXT Nov.--our frontcourt will be one of best in nation.

Tigermojo, I completely agree.
If Kenney is not going to be a backup pg then we indeed need to recruit a pg. Van indicated that they're going to sign a JC player this coming spring. Somehow I have a feeling that they're probably going to go after a pg with that scholarship. Time will tell. But in the meantime, we're stacked in the frontcourt with McKinney (6'4"), Plaisance (6'5") and now Forthan (6'4" and still growing).
