LSU is actually ranked #7 in the NCAA's latest top 16 reveal. As was stated before, I do believe the reason they have us in the bracket with UConn is because they don't want the SEC teams being #1 and #2 in any bracket, which means that Vandy gets moved to either UCLA or UConn, and by default LSU gets UConn because between the two, they are CURRENTLY the lowest #2. I think if LSU can make a run to the SEC tournament championship game, there's a chance to change that.

I think Flau’jae biggest issue this year has been consistency. She’s been really good some games and not so much others .

I would absolutely agree with this take.
No way did Flau'je "regress" last season. In fact, last season was her BEST season at LSU...............................

I did not forget those but we're not in that game if not for Flaujae, Fulwiley and Williams did not show up - Flaujae did

EXACTLY!!!!
So, are you all saying that the reason that LSU is paired with UConn is that after the #8 seed, the next "easiest" matchup in that bracket for UConn would be LSU? So, UConn as the #1 overall should have the easiest path to the final four, under the circumstances?
I'm still confused as to how the 2nd lowest #2 seed, get's paired with the top overall #1. The 2nd lowest #2 seed is SUPPOSED to be paired with the 2nd highest #1 seed. Are they doing this because they don't want LSU paired with UCLA for the third year in a row? I don't get it.
I believe that as well. However, I DO NOT think that she'll eventually be able to even up her record against Staley................................................but that's not important anyway. What IS important is winning championships.
I don't believe that we'll get Kaleena Smith and GG Banks. So, I would expect whichever one comes here, the other will go elsewhere..................

Judging by this brief video, we would do well to get EITHER of them.

Did they say they were? It’s a fricking LSU sports forum, he/she was asking a simple question.

Honestly some of y'all try to sound so hard and it’s corny as frick.

He said it because that's exactly what Kim said in her press conference tonight.

Mikaylah Williams out?

Well, Kim sat her for the entire second half after she made that behind the back pass that turned into a turnover........................and I think it was a great move!

It's high time that Williams starts to fulfill her potential. She could be the best player in the SEC if she could keep her head in games and STAY AGGRESSIVE. I remember when we were recruiting her and a bunch of folks on this board were trying to compare her to Seimone Augustus, and I let them know, as good as she is, she's not on Seimone's level. The difference I see between the two, at this stage of their careers is a willingness to PUT YOUR TEAM ON YOUR BACK. And honestly, Williams doesn't really need to do it, because this team is more offensively talented than the teams Seimone played on. But she doesn't even show the mentality to do it when it's needed.
Almost game time!

Time to bump up this thread. Let's GEAUX ladies!!! :geauxtigers: :geauxtigers:

The FULL Pete Maravich Assembly Center looked great, but they lost again to "Dawn the Racist" and those god awful grey, black, purple and gold "Circus Clown" uniforms were a fricking embarrassment.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion. Personally, I LOVED the black uniforms and Dawn is not a "racist"..............................................at least not as much as many of the bigots we have on this board.

So ABC took a small ratings hit by airing the biggest regular season matchup of the year in women’s college basketball over a random NBA game.

I could care less what "hit" ABC took. All that matters is that LSU got on a big stage, and that as many as 2.2 million people saw the BRAND.............................AND they saw a packed out PMAC to boot! Only positives on the LSU side of things. Hope they make it a regular event moving forward. :dude:

How much money you think the athletic department lost during that game?
500K? 850K?

None actually, when you consider how much Saturday night primetime space would have COST the university. It was basically a free 2 hour long commercial for LSU..........................and it looked great!
:geauxtigers:

That’s crazy that many people flipped through ESPN 3 all at the same time.

I love the fact that you want that to be true so bad.
So much for the "nobody watches women's basketball" crowd. Not only did we have a PACKED and rabid PMAC last Saturday, we also had a large television audience. Wish we coulda won though!

LSU vs South Carolina Viewers!

Additionally, Ole Miss is expecting a huge crowd in Oxford tonight while hosting the Lady Tigers. By comparison, their game on Tuesday night versus Tennessee drew only 3,300 fans. The Lady Tigers are also filling other teams arenas when they come to town.

Game preview. Surprisingly, they're expecting a huge crowd for this one. I'm kinda surprised because hardly anyone showed up for their game against Tennessee on Tuesday night..................

I haven't seen any updates. Only this photo...................

Are you saying that Dawn is not looking to get another natty and catch Kim Mulkey at 4?

A lot of folks here love to hate Dawn just like a lot of folks elsewhere love to hate Kim. It is the nature of being a very successful, somewhat outspoken, SEC coach. Anyone who will take a moment and step back will acknowledge that we are seeing two of the best all-time women's basketball coaches to ever coach the game in the same conference at the same time.

Here are the top 5 coaches all-time in terms of national championships, the ones in bold are active coaches.

GENO AURIEMMA, 12 CHAMPIONSHIPS

PAT SUMMITT, 8 CHAMPIONSHIPS

KIM MULKEY, 4 CHAMPIONSHIPS

TARA VANDERVEER, 3 CHAMPIONSHIPS

DAWN STALEY, 3 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Compltely agree! All this hate Dawn Staley receives on this board is ridiculous.........................similar to how much hate Saban used to receive, except for the obvious bigotry also hurled at Staley (not that she cares).

What we need to do is appreciate the fact that, as stated above, we're watching two of the greatest to ever do it.............................and yes, right now Dawn does "own" Kim. It's just a fact. As a fan of the Lady Tigers I HATE it, but it is what it is. They've beaten us six straight times under Kim and ALL but one of the games were decided by 10 or less points. Meaning, yes, SC is MUCH better at closing out games than we are. THAT is the part that Kim needs to figure out. They are ALWAYS more poised at the end of games than we are, regardless of the year.

Maybe my least favorite player in the league. She is at her 3rd school in 3 years. By all accounts she has been a pain in the arse at all 3. She looks like she has so much talent, but doesn't use it. She took a couple of lazy 3's in the game tonight that she had no business shooting. She may light our arse up for 20 next week, but I still think she is a major underachiever.

Tennessee's whole team looks like a hodgepodge of mismatched players trying to run a system that none of them seem to fit in

I've actually been thinking the same thing about Barker. What a tremendous waste of talent............................and I remember when we were recruting her out of high school. Glad we "missed" on that one!

With that being said, this game Thursday scares me. It's directly after an emotional loss and McMahon is playing lights out. On the other hand, they have to play us on one day's rest, and their crowd is terrible. I'm really hoping that the ladies lock in for this one. We really can't afford to finish 11-5 in the SEC. We would not get the bye in the SEC tournament that goes to the top four seeds.
Time for the ladies to regroup and focus on the task at hand. In order to finish in the top four of the SEC and get the bye during the SEC tournament, LSU needs to win it's last four games, starting with Ole Miss on Thursday. Ole Miss just defeated Tennessee tonight in Oxford which creates a three way tie between them, Tennessee and LSU currently. This is an even bigger "must win" than the game vs South Carolina this past weekend. We need Flau'je to step up and be the leader the rest of the way, like she did on Saturday!
