this board said that it was gay where we learned that they were gonna pass out 50,000 pom poms. i am 30 years old and i thought it look cool and was a nice touch. anyone else agree with me??
ps i was in section 210 and they were all around me

Personally, I like that LSU never gave out pom pom's. I feel it is just something that makes us unique from Alabama, Auburn, or any other SEC School.
If we wanted to copy other schools, maybe we should do the Gator Chomp and call it the Tiger Chomp. Perhaps we could cheer the same cheer that most other schools do. "Come on Tigers, GET UP AND GO!"
LSU is better than pom poms, and the fans should know it.

We've never been a pom pom school for some reason.
If they handed them out the first game of the season no one would bring them to the second game.
I think it looks good. Better than the towels that ATM uses or cowbells.

Most of the ones saying they are gay are the same people sitting on their hands during the game with a radio in their ear telling everyone around them to be quiet.

there was one point where they piped in techno music and there were pom poms everywhere. i thought i was in auburn and almost threw up.

For all of you that didn't like the poms, you must not have seen the student section. The band played "all I do is win" and the entire section was rocking the pom poms. The hand goes up and the section turned into a solid section of gold. Great site IMO

Tiger stadium is not known for cool looking fans in stands. Anything that takes away from clapping, noise I'm against it. Our fans can affect the game in certain situations because we are so loud. I don't think the other team looks up in the stands at the yellow pom poms and thinks - "shite I can't see, what play is it" - I ask the student section to boycott this crap.

I seem to remember at least one game during the Dinardo Era that LSU gave out Pom Poms out as you entered the stadium. Maybe the Rockin Gold Game

Pom Poms take away from the actual movement in the student section that makes them unique. During any cheer, all I saw was a yellow blur.
Also, it's a waste of fricking money. LSU tradition is consistently being destroyed. It's bullshite. Our administration needs to wake up. We are becoming like everyone else.
