They will deny this but I can tell you that this is true. Skip didn't want him back. You have to realize that the AD at BAMA (Mal Moore) lwent to Fort Lauderdale and would not leave until Saban agreed to the job at BAMA.

This was done while MIKE SHULA was the BAMA coach and Nick was struggling with the Dolphins.

SO...the BAMA AD, went to Ft. Lauderdale and spent many days there convincing Nick to go to BAMA! He was ready to ditch his current coach in a heartbeat. Mal Moore knew what Nick could do at Bama= What he did at LSU and more...

NOW LSU:

Nick reached out through Richard Gill, head of TAF at the time and Skip told them that they were going to honor the current contract with Miles.

So you can worship Skip all you want for the baseball championships etc. But when it came to doing what was best for the football program he fricked us and fricked us hard.

I will NEVER hold Skip Bertman with any respect outside of his baseball wins, and if it meant Nick would have been here, and won 5 or 6 more championships in football, then you can have those baseball wins and do that Bama does: they don't care about baseball.

Skip fricked us good.
