If Miles decided to leave, his name should be in the top 3.

Malzahns contacts in this part of the country would greatly benefit LSU, imo.

To me, most teams with a Defensive HC play with alot more fire and aggresion as a whole..

People at LSU prefer proven head coaches. Like Les.

i'd love Holgerson as the OC. i dont think he has the track record at this point for me to be super excited about him being the HC.

frick. No.

How these guys would handle the duties of being a head coach is a complete mystery. They hardly even have BCS-level OC experience!

I'd prefer Mullen over either of those guys. He's a great OC as well and now has HC experience at MSU.

Depends how good of a staff they can surround themselves with, specifically if they can get an elite DC. Because in spite of this aberration of a season, defense still wins championships.

Rich Rod proved himself to be a narcissistic a-hole by even accepting Michigan's offer in the way he did. And he runs a system that has always faltered against strong D-lines, at least since Trickett left him for Florida State.

Lane Kiffin was a very hot, up and coming assistant before becoming a head coach. So was Ed Orgeron. Mike Lockslley(sp?), the former OC at Illinois, has been absolutely terrible as New Mexico's HC. He was very hot when they hired him. LSU doesn't need to take those risks.

he was hired by AL DAVIS and was a 10th choice. he flamed from the pros only to be hired at tennessee b/c of his good recruiting and legendary father as a package deal. i dont think he fits the mold of going from big time coordinator straight to upper level head coaching job
quote:

So was Ed Orgeron
he was never a coordinator. he was hired at ole piss b/c of his recruiting prowess

Mike Lockslley
was never on this level as an elite coordinator.

So all those years Holgerson was the OC at Texas Tech don't count now and 3 years is not good enough as an SEC OC for Malzahn?
