2 F-16's. I just happened to be in the area and saw it. It was loud!

Once was sailing across the Chesapeake Bay and three jets kept circling our boat. One guy on the boat was a retired Navy pilot who told is that they were just up from Oceana NAS playing around. A few minutes later they flew overhead low, in formation, wings swept back heading straight for Annapolis. It was a fly over for the Naval Academy homecoming and if you think seeing one in a stadium is cool then let me assure you that watching them go in for it is super badass.

Actually they were F-15s.

Should be easy to tell. F-16's have a single tail rudder while F-15's have two angled rudders.

I think they flew right over my apartment, something certainly flew pretty low at just before 1:00... Anyone know which direction they were heading?

Your right, very easy to tell the two apart. They were F-15s from the LNG unit in Belle Chase.
I am still holding out hope that LSU would ask for a B-52 from Barksdale flanked by two F-15s for a football game to top Bama's KC-135 and two F-16s from a few years back.

that shite was fricking incredible

That was two jet and four turbofan engines, just think what 12 jet engines would sound like!
B-52 = 8 jet engines
F-15 = 2 x 2 jet engines
B-52 = 8 jet engines
F-15 = 2 x 2 jet engines

F-15's tails are not angled. F-18's are angled.

I did not agree with the previous poster who posted that, I did agree it is easy to tell the difference between a F-15 and a F-16.

When I was in college there was a fly over at every home game by the Confederate Air Force. Don't know when they stopped doing it.
