anyone else scared he will get limited/minimal time in the spring game to show what he can do? seems like miles is all in with JJ and has little intention on using mett this year.

have they/do they announce teams/starters for the spring game?

No. I promise you that Les is more into winning a championship then he is into Jordan Jefferson. He personally recruited Mett. So give the coach a little room to do his job. If Mett's not ready, he's not ready. If he is, he'll play. If he's what we all hopes for, he'll play well.

i could match JJ's 2010 season performance of 7 TD/10INTs. there were times JJ was clearly out played by j-lee, but JJ held the starting spot

i guess my question is, how bad does JJ have to play until he wont be the starter?

It will take one bad play from JJ until the Mettenberger chants begin. That being said, Miles is a damn good coach and wants to win a NC. He will put in the best player he has available for every position.

I literally shite my pants with fear every time I think about mettenburgers playing time in the spring game. I also get physically Ill, vomit and have explosive diarrhea when people mention the short side option. Its good to know there are other whining wimpering poons in the LSU fanbase like me. All together now.....The sky is falling.

No. Until the Cotton Bowl, neither QB was good enough to clearly outplay any college QB last year.

Could you match JJ's Cotton Bowl? Could Mett right now? JJ has experience and talent (talent as shown in the Cotton Bowl.) That is enough for him to be the starter, for now. JJ was able to earn his way on the field as a first year player on the team, no reason to think Mett wouldn't have the same opportunity, if needed.

Doubtful

With a month of preparation like JJ had? I have no doubts that he would pass for more than a 158 yards. No way he would rush for as many yards as JJ did. Ridley or Ware would replace JJ's touchdown on the ground.

JJ didn't come in until Lee got hurt and LSU had lost 3 games. If Mett has to wait for those circumstances, the season will be lost. Also, JJ was a true freshman, Mett is a RS Sophomore.

That being said, JJ is your starter for 2011 no matter what barring injury.

We'll be fine.

Trust the man to do his job at this point. He's proven us all wrong so many times it's stupid.

Geaux Les.

NC time again.

If anybody is expecting Mett to start this season at any point, you are seriously setting yourself up for a huge letdown.

Playing time in the spring game - I would expect him towards the tail end of the practice.

Les is smarter than that, he knows if Lee outplays JJ then the fans will just start to cry like they did last year. But if Mett outplays him then Les can just say "it was a spring game but Mett still has a ways to go to learn the system". He can't use that excuse with Lee. You guys don't give Les enough credit in his devious strategies to keep his pet players in the game. It will be interesting to see who Les pays a $5000 bonus to this year to fake an injury so that TBob will get playing time, Blackwell got it last year.

I agree, this playing of pet players will be Les' downfall. Some no name from Ohio starting over Mike Ford is rediculous...

agreed. He consistently plays seniority over talent and its sickening.........unless its defense.....or the lines.....or RB.

I get frustrated watching JJ. Mett needs to get his reps and a chance to play

Yes I am. I am absolutely terrified. To be honest, I'm absolutely positive that Mett knows the playbook inside and out. Has timing down with the WR;s. Knows the ins and outs of everything going on with the offense as if he has been in the system for 7 years. I just KNEW he was going to step on the field as soon as he got to LSU and would know EVERYTHING and be absolutely prepared to be the starter.

Nah. Didn't you watch the Cotton Bowl? JJ is awesome and stuff. And Kragthorpe is even awesomer. Take JJ's awesomeness and add Kragthorpe's awesomeness and you have the awesomest.

There is no competition when you are competing against greatness.
