Suspension timing is curious

I do not understand CLMs timing for suspending JJ and JJ. Were they suspended for being arrested? Of course the police never arrest anyone mistakenly or, especially, maliciously. Further, I am sure that no DA in the country would ever pursue a groundless case, e.g. Duke Lacrosse players. JJ and JJ are innocent unless and until they have been convicted.
Now, if the two were suspended for violating team rules, that is a different matter, except for the fact that it seems unlikely that JJ and JJ were the only ones who violated team rules such as curfew?
It makes no sense to me unless CLM is convinced that the two are guilty in which case he should dismiss both of them.
What say the ranter Nation?

Fair or not, Miles would have been utterly crucified by the media had he not suspended them...with plenty of "see, SEC is crooked," blah blah, etc.
